If His System is not religious and does not operate religiously, how does it operate?
Scriptures are clear that there are dynamics of choice that operate by design and determine our outcomes and experiences. Dynamics are described as an interactive system of competing and conflicting forces where our choice of action contains within them the inertia that takes us to a predetermined outcome. We can know our outcomes before we choose our actions. This is not a religious experience. This is the design of choice. Gravity operates by design. How we choose to honor and respect gravity determines what our experience with gravity will be.
When we operate from the position of regulation and compliance, there is usually someone who observes and judges our choice. If no one sees you or you do not get caught, you can escape any consequences. Not so with dynamics. If no one sees you or knows, the outcomes are the same. They are sure and they are certain. The Scriptures are not a listing of do’s and don’ts. They provide us with the values, principles, and established precedents we agree to use to govern ourselves. That is the classic definition of a Constitution, and the Scriptures are our Constitution. From cover to cover, the Scriptures are full of if/then declarations.
In Kingdomnomics, Lewis will explore the application of these values and principles in our lives, as well as the if/then dynamic to provide better understandings of how to live a Christ-like life and stay in communion with our Creator. The Scriptures, at their core, are about government and governance.
