I absolutely loved this story. While Charlotte was a bratty princess in the beginning, she turned out to be an amazing person. I love all the characters and how they all fit together. The narration is perfect. Can't wait for the next one.

Sucker for a YA Royal story
I love this book. It was such a easy listen. Multiple love triangles, betrayal, and battle. The story follows a young princess whose kingdom is at war. Her father forces her into a marriage she doesn't want and man is she a brat about it. Young is the prince we all wish for. He is well, young, but wise, strong and good to his core. There is no darkness in this prince which is rare in a story like this.
As a side note, of the hundreds of royal books i read, i think this is the first ever that features a princess of color. This is so important. Young girls need to read stories about girls who look like them even in fantasy. This is a big part of this author's stories and because of that (and her awesome storytelling) she will continue to have my support. I look forward to reading (and listening to) many more of her stories.
Per my request, I was given a free review copy of this audiobook in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are solely my own and were not influenced in any way.

A bit slow...
I was super excited to start this one, and loved the premise, but found myself struggling to connect with the story and it's characters. It took much longer than expected to feel like the story actually 'started' and I was never really 'hooked' but it was an interesting story, just maybe not my cup of tea ..

Why?
Spolier! I am so use to books with happy endings so this one took me by surprise. The book had a semi happy ending and Charlotte got what she always wanted but everyone she loved died. I just new the kindom would find a way to overcome. Guess I was wrong!
I love the diversity in this book because it's hard to find that in this genre.

Kingdom Cold 1
Reviewer: Teresa Fallen Angel
Summary:
Growing up is never easy especially if you are a princess. All Charlotte ever wanted was to be a normal girl and fall in love, but as a royal she had obligations to marry to secure her kingdom. After the kingdom came under attack everything changed forcing Charlotte into a marriage she never wanted. Most girls at the age of Sixteen are looking forward to dating and a first kiss, but Charlotte’s life is about to change. Charlotte only met Prince Young of Vires once as a child and all she remembers is his cold attitude. Prince Young remembers how captivating Charlotte was in their brief meeting.
The kingdom is attacked forcing an expedient marriage leaving Charlotte confused after Young treats her with more kindness on their wedding night. Running for their lives place Young and Charlotte in danger from a nearby kingdom as outside forces threaten all that they hold dear.
Their only chance of survival is to trust in themselves and each other. Add to this jealousy, treachery, and a possible love for all time.
This was an incredible story of young love, suspense, danger, and the challenges of growing up. I for one can’t wait for the next installment of the Kingdom Cold series. The audio-book brought the story alive through the narrator’s unique rendition.

Fun Story!
I found this book to be both fun and entertaining. The only downside to this book is that it became too predictable in the middle of the story; however, it ended on a twist so I am curious to see how the next book will be. Natalie Rae's and Matthew H Longoria's narration added to the enjoyment and ease of following the story as each provided the voice of the main characters. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review.

A Good, If Not Frustrating Story
I liked all the action that took place throughout the book. As well as the character growth of Charlotte and Young. I think I actually appreciated their growth even more as Young's brother and Millie became more frustrating and basically the "Ross" of characters (as in: the worst). I also liked the few twists that were incorporated into the fast-paced plot; in some ways it made up for the fact that this book held all frustration and annoyance I had felt with Divergent. Aside from the "Ross" characters I did mostly enjoy the book. And the narrators were perfect for the book in character voices, emotions, and humor. All of it was spot on!

Fastpaced and thrilling
This story is not long, it's quite fast and entertaining. The characters are mostly great and diverse, and I quite enjoyed this. The only complaint I have is that the characters lack a little dept in my opinion, they seemed kinda underdeveloped. But it was an overall great listen.
The narrators did a great job!

An arranged marriage to save a kingdom.
The story starts with Princess Charlotte protesting as her parents the King and Queen are forcing her to marry Prince Young who's meant to be cold and unfeeling. Princess Charlotte is totally brattish(quite like a lot of 16 years olds who think they know better). Prince Young is the third in line for his throne so the only way he can be king is to marry into another Kingdom. But war is coming, lives will be lost and kingdoms will fall. Marrying Prince Young is actually not the worst thing that can happen to Princess Charlotte but she doesn't know that yet. There will be others competing for her hand and she will know loss. The ending (no spoilers here) made me think "oh wow" as it was tied nicely into a certain King that we've all heard of. I really enjoyed this book. It was sad in places but it was setting it up for the next books in the series. I received a free copy of this audio book from the author but the reviews are my own opinions.

Overall an enjoyable story
I was not prepared for the ride this story took me on in the best way. We see Charlotte grow from a spoiled princess into a fierce leader, friends become foes and there were enough twists to keep me on the edge of my seat throughout the story. I have much to say about how the story ended but can't find a way to do so without including spoilers. It wasn't a bad ending but it left me wanted so much more!
Overall it's an enjoyable story.
