Fast Paced and Jumpy, but Based on the Science of Learning a Language

My just turned 4 year old is very into learning, and language, so I purchased this for us to use while riding in the car. Although she LOVES it, I found it very fast paced, and it jumps from new concept to new concept in moments. My background with high school Spanish allows me to support her by pausing it and saying the words slowly so she can hear the sounds or the individual words in phrases, but without that, we’d both be lost. There are also places in the recording where it feels like to glitches and the pauses are too long, or it accidentally repeats parts (not related to practice). It feels like a production error.

I was going to try to return it since we’re only probably 10 minutes in (we’ve listened to the first few minutes a few times), but I can’t find the option on my app, so I’m hoping it’ll get better as it goes. I’ve also found some podcasts that we might try first.

On a more positive note (hence three stars, not one), it uses phrases to describe something to get your brain thinking about a concept and then gives you the Spanish word for it, followed by the English word, which is more natural to learning a language than just vocab back and forth. Plus it has authentic language speakers for the Spanish speaking parts and songs. My daughter loves the songs, but I wish I had. PDF that typed them out so we could sing them more slowly and Google more of the meaning.
