Publisher's summary

“The world has a way of defining you if you don’t know who you are before you get out there.” (Candace Cameron Bure)

As a woman in today’s world, you know what it’s like to feel pressure on all sides from clashing cultural expectations. How can you stay true to who God has uniquely created you to be in the face of the script you’ve been given? What’s more, how can you stand your ground with grace?

The classy confidence you know and love - whether it’s on set at Full House or Fuller House, Dancing with the Stars, The View, or Candace’s Hallmark films - is no act. But it hasn’t come easy. In fact, learning to stay true to herself with grace has been one of the biggest fights of Candace’s life.

The secret, she has learned, is kindness: it’s classy, unexpected, even counter-cultural, and ultimately wins the day.

In Kind Is the New Classy, Candace reveals the thought patterns and practices that have empowered her to stay centered in who she is while practicing radical graciousness toward others. Whether you’re navigating major life choices, questions of calling and career, relationships, or personal goals, this book will show you how to:

  • Keep your cool under pressure
  • Respond to criticism with grace
  • Stay grounded yet go places in life
  • Stay true to who you are despite the expectations of others
  • Stay centered in what ultimately matters the most

Kind Is the New Classy is your permission to go off-script, to say goodbye to society’s "should"s, and to step into a new way to flourish as a woman today.

I love her and this book encouraged me.

This book is like comfort food for your heart. It encouraged me in my faith and gave me hope that there is a light at the end of the tunnel in this contentious world we're in. The world gets a little kinder with each of us that finishes this book.

LOVED

This was surprisingly the first book I ever heard through audio recording and I loved it! I’m a huge advocate of stories and reading new adventures, but this changed the game. Kind is the New Classy is an excellent car book. It’s the perfect time to reflect on your day, life, current situations and this book brings those issues to the fore front through Candace’s own example and the word of God. I’m such a huge fan!

Wonderful read and listen.

This book was suggested to me by a friend and since she really enjoyed it, I thought I'd give it a try. I really enjoyed it and loved listening to it through audible. I will definitely listen to it again see what other knowledge I can learn. Thanks Candace aka DJ!

Nice, Peaceful, and Thoughtful

I like Candace and have watched her grow up over the years. Her voice is soothing and I liked what she had to say and what she offered as suggestions.

She is right, Classy is much needed in these times. Personally, I also take the time to say to people who interact with me “thank you for being kind” whether it is on the phone or in person. This has worked two ways….people who were not so kind sort of change their demeanor to a softer personality; or those who know they were being kind and being authentic smile and continue on in a positive way.

I will definitely listen again to write down her suggestions.

Thank you Candace for your insight.

PS: Love her on the Hallmark Channel. 🙏❤️

Positively Perfect

Candace shares so much of her life and how different situations have impacted her and how she chooses to respond with kindness. We all have difficult situations and she helps pave the way for keeping a positive mindset and responding out of kindness. HAULT! And choose kindness! ❤️ Thank you!

Like "Chicken Soup for the Soul"

If it's not apparent from the subtitle "...living graciously," be aware that the author is a devote Christian and refers to her faith often as it's the foundation of her strength and purpose. You don't have to be a Christian to enjoy the book as long as you're open-minded and appreciate the message of being kind to people. It's like her version of "Chicken Soup for the Soul" -- growing up as a child actor, balancing marriage and parenthood, and continuing to have an acting career. And through all the obstacles and challenges, she shows why keeping kindness at top of mind is so important.

Good

I enjoyed this book and Candance did a wonderful job narrating. I don’t have the same beliefs but found we share the same principles and this book was just a lovely listen to and from work. I found myself thinking wow when life’s stresses had gotten me down this book was a breathe of fresh air and I found her love for her family and beliefs admirable.
