Man, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I have the hard copy but I’m glad I purchased the audio version as well. I’m a couple years older than Ward and traveled through some of the same areas in the Bay as Ward. I felt as if we were riding in a car, with me in the passenger seat and he was telling me his..story. I remember the how boxers were when Ward was on the scene. I felt, especially after fighters fought Ward, nobody wanted to face him. The way he carried himself is honorable and should be celebrated more. I’m glad he yielded to what the Lord was telling him in his life when it counted the most. I’m not sure if most people could turn away from that much money. But, the Lord will give you beauty for ashes for a small sacrifice. Great book, I’ll be listening to this book again for sure, to dig up some of the gold nuggets I got from the first read.
