Better than I expected

Normally there are one or two stories I like, but in this case I liked them all. Some were better than others but they were all interesting enough to listen to. The best collection of short stories I have listened to.

Great Collection

I enjoyed listening to this collection of short stories that allowed me to see into the mind of the main characters. They grabbed my attention from beginning to end of each story. All of the performances of this collection were brilliantly executed.

Too short stories but good narration.. DNF @83%

(1)The Window Man

What can I say? It was short and silly and had no ending. I don’t even remember if the MC even had a name. However, she was cray-cray. I can see why this was 15 authors and only 210 pages.
The narrator was good.

The F-bomb was used 17 times through the entire book.

(2)On The Undercliff

This was about Rose and Henry who were on vacation together and all they did was argue. Until The End!

The narrator was good and the F-bomb was used 17 through all the stories.

(3)The Previous Tenant

This was about Abby and Charlie who rented an apartment where a murderer kept human hearts in a planter on the window sill. And in the end there was only Abby left.

The narrator was good and the F-bomb was used 17 through all the stories.

(4)Schiaparelli Pink Bikini

The pink bikini belonged to 83 year old Margery who met men from a dating site. Andrew was such a man and within no time they were moving in together, much to the chagrin of out MC Alison. Alison sat in her apartment watching the film of her ex-boyfriend doing the nasty with someone else. And she was constantly mad at Margery and Andrew for taking her parking spot. It was kind of a cute story.

The narrator was good and the F-bomb was used 17 through all the stories.

(5)The Edge

This was about a girl standing on the edge of a 7 story building and was about to jump, so it was thought, when Seb came to rescue her, only to find his thinking was all wrong.

The first male narrator and he was very good and the F-bomb was used 17 through all the stories.

(6)The Rat Trap

No clue why it was called that since it was about a flat being sold after both of Charlotte’s parents died and a suitcase the realtor brought down from the attic for her. He left and what she described in that suitcase was utterly disgusting.

Good narration and the F-bomb was used 17 through all the stories.

(7)Don’t Know Where, Don’t Know When

These old people in these stories are just nuts. Not to mention that as short as this story was the author forgot who was talking. It was Rachel that went to tea with him, not the ex Pam. And it was Rachel he ask to go for a drive with him not Pam, even though it said Pam.

Good narration and the F-bomb was used 17 through all the stories.

(8)El Lloron Borrego

Sorry, I didn’t even understand this really short story so I can’t tell you anything about it.

The narrator was good and the F-bomb was used 17 through all the stories.

(9)Stop the Pigeon

This was a story of just what a promotion will make you do.

The narrator was good and the F-bomb was used 17 through all the stories.

(10)The Day of the Dead

This was my favorite so far. Not just the story but the way the narrator read it.
It was about two brothers and a nun, and Berenice the cop who was looking for that missing nun.

The narrator was very good and the F-bomb was used 17 through all the stories.

(11)The Secret Ingredient

This was about poetry and I didn’t really get it as a story. It was very boring so I’m glad it was so short.

The narrator was very good and the F-bomb was used 17 through all the stories.

(12)Witch

Okay, this was based on a heartbreakingly true story about a 22 month old little boy who was put out into the streets because the family thought he was a witch. He was saved but, my God, who would do such a thing? AND it was done in 2016!

The narration was very good.

(13)Stevie

Another one I didn’t understand and it simply ended with her holding a gun.

The narrator was very good and the F-bomb was used 17 through all the stories.

**********************************

Believe it or not at 83% I’m going to call it quits. And I’ve learned I never want to read another 15 stories in 210 pages. Sorry.

As to the narration: I have to admit that they were all pretty good. If I don’t cringe they’re good.
