Publisher's Summary

His Target

Aspiring model Sandee Rozzo's big mistake was being kind to Timothy "Tracey" Humphrey. After Rozzo refused the 'roided-up ex-con's advances, she described how he imprisoned, raped, and brutalized her for two days. When the courageous woman pledged to testify against him, Humphrey knew he had to silence her....

His Weapon

That's when he turned to 19-year-old Ashley Laney. She had fallen in love with Humphrey, her personal trainer, and would do anything for him. On their wedding night, he made a strange request - one that would end with eight gunshot wounds and a dead body.

His Scheme

The police knew Humphrey was the likely suspect, but he had an alibi for the time of the shooting. How could they prove that, even if he didn't pull the trigger, he was the manipulative psychopath behind Sandee's murder? It would all come down to a prison escape, a manhunt for a killer, and an explosive trial....

Contains mature themes.

ONE OF THE AUTHER'S BEST

I could not stop listening to KILL FOR ME! This is at the top of my favorite 500 or more True Crime books I have in my Audible library. If I heard this story told to me by a stranger I would not believe it! Some people are true murderous Psychopaths that have to be stopped like the late Charles Manson. The defendant in this case, in many ways, reminded me of Manson who had an uncanny ability to take vulnerable young people under his influence and mold their behavior in every way possible including committing murder for them.

In this case the person who did the actual murder was not the defendant. However, through the defendent's Svengali psychosis, he was able to manipulate others to do his evil acts. This is a man that personifies pure evil. Tracy Humphrey is a rapist, wife beater, and a murderer. Once you start listening to Kill For Me, it will be impossible to turn off your ear buds! This is the kind of story that could get you fired from your job because once you start listening at work YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO STOP!

If I say anymore about this horrifying case, it will ruin the story for you. However, I will say this: You will want to listen to this book more than once because it is very hard to believe it is a true story. IT IS SIMPLY A GREAT TRUE CRIME BOOK! Like I said earlier in my review, KILL FOR ME IS AT THE TOP OF THE TRUE CRIME BOOKS I HAVE EVER LISTENED TO.

Thanks for reading my review. Steve

great true crime read

M. William Phelps never fails in writing a fabulous true crime story. There is a little of unanswered question in the epilogue that frustrates me but still a great read

Narrator Alert

Honestly could not get through this book. Narrator is awful. Too bad as I like the author. I would skip this.

Typical Phelps book. So thorough in his research, and very interesting! The details and story telling, are why I appreciate his books.

This book is so poorly written

Do not buy this book, in fact I tried to return it but it was ineligible for returns (of course the bad one can't be returned ;)). It is written in reverse timline style, which is normally great, but not this one. It is as if the author just thought of random stuff he/she wanted to add as they went without any anchor to the storyline. It is so hard to follow because there are so many ancillary details that have nothing to do with the story. Truly, don't waste your money.
