Publisher's summary

#1 New York Times best-selling author Vince Flynn is back with another nail-biting political thriller that follows the young Mitch Rapp on a deadly mission to hunt down the men responsible for the Pan Am Lockerbie terrorist attack.

For months, Mitch Rapp has been steadily working his way through a list of men, bullet by bullet. With each kill, the tangled network of monsters responsible for the slaughter of 270 civilians becomes increasingly clear. He is given his next target: a plump Libyan diplomat who is prone to drink and is currently in Paris without a single bodyguard.

Rapp finds him completely unprotected and asleep in his bed. With confidence in his well-honed skills and conviction of the man’s guilt, he easily sends a bullet into the man’s skull. But in the split second it takes the bullet to leave the silenced pistol, everything changes. The door to the hotel room is kicked open and gunfire erupts all around Rapp. In an instant the hunter has become the hunted. Rapp is left wounded and must flee for his life.

The next morning, the news breaks in Washington that Libya’s Oil Minister has been killed along with three innocent civilians and four unidentified men. The French authorities are certain that the gunman is wounded and on the loose in Paris. As the finger pointing begins, Rapp’s handlers have only one choice - deny any responsibility for the incident and pray that their newest secret weapon stays that way, avoiding capture and dying quietly. One person in the group, however, is not prone to leaving things to chance. Rapp has become a liability, and he absolutely cannot be allowed to be taken alive by the French authorities. But it will soon become clear that nothing is more dangerous than a wounded and cornered Mitch Rapp.

I am now a Flynn FAN

What did you love best about Kill Shot?

The detail and development of the characters of Mitch and the others. It was slow and deliberate but never lost me for a second.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Absolutely. It was riveting and I could feel the future assignment coming.

Which scene was your favorite?

The inevitable showdown between Rapp and his trainers who thought he had went rogue. I felt the betrayal and cunning and imminent revenge Rapp felt as it approached. The scene when Rapp gets to exact his revenge in the last scene was incredible.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The capture of Stan was PRICELESS! His interaction with his captors was hilarious. I laughed out loud almost the whole time.

Any additional comments?

I have only listened to the first 2 so far but I am disappointed Stan did not return and there was a 10 year gap and his absence.

Loved it! So glad we got through all that!

Kind of makes you want to retire to an island. There are so many people who don't care about anyone else, not other people, not other countries, not even their own. And then there is the petty school-yard animosity between Rapp and "Victor". In our own agency, neither we nor Mitch knows who is doing the country's bidding and who is making things personal. There's a big leak somewhere, and even the team looks suspicious, but Mitch is cool and capable, and figures things out. And he seems to really be a good guy! He cares about lives that are not his targets. Good story in a good series.

Incredible Listeb

Kill shot picks up where American Assassin leaves off. Intriguing, unpredictable are just a couple of words to describe this mystery. The entire time I was pulling for Mitch. The narrator expertly articulated each characters accent. Enjoyable and entertaining. You won't regret listening to this book.

Rapp is always a good story, but...

It was a decent story and I enjoyed it but not really as good as many others. it was a little anemic in the details and general timeline for Rapp. The narrator is always good so made a 3 star a 4 overall.

Fact or fiction

I started reading VF just for entertainment. Then the controversy began over enhanced interrogation. Then I read that 44 met VF. He was a fan of these books. I began to wonder if there was a correlation but dismissed my hypothesis as an overactive imagination. Now Mr.T. in office and the possibilities for treasonous acts being committed against this my Country I once again wonder if Fiction or Fact one Texan macho hubris vs New York grab for power self confessed greed for money "give me more I love money" hands failing mimicking racking in all the money he could grab by hook or crook. Niether one putting country first. However misguided a patriot, one I believe that loves this country. Vince Flynn unknowingly captured the essence of the political world we now live in. This a thought provoking book that is thoroughly entertaining. Rapp a thinking super hero surrounded by characters we can admire that help us sleep at night. Never a dull moment. We will miss you. Thanks for your work.

Great follow up

Any additional comments?

Book one basically had me hooked, book two was a near perfect follow up - in comparison to book one. There are enough twists and turns and relative unpredictability that it keeps you engaged for the whole book. Being that the book is based around a top (or presumably the top) CIA secret operative, 99% of the story is very believable... the 1% doesnt discredit the story, because it is fictional, but there are times that I do wonder. Overall a great story and turning into a really good series.

It's another winner for Vince Flynn.

What a story, couldn't stop listening to it and the narrator George Guidall is one of the best I've listened to. I'm now addicted to Vince Flynn's novels.
