Publisher's Summary

“I have no desire whatever to reform myself. My only desire is to reform people who try to reform me. And I believe that the only way to reform people is to kill 'em. My motto is, Rob em all, Rape em all and Kill em all.” (Carl Panzram)

In 1902, at the age of 11, Carl Panzram broke into a neighbour’s home and stole some apples, a pie, and a revolver. As a frequent troublemaker, the court decided to make an example of him and placed him into the care of the Minnesota State Reform School. During his two-year detention, Carl was repeatedly beaten, humiliated, and raped by the school staff.

At 15-years old, Carl enlisted in the army by lying about his age but his career was short-lived. He was dishonorably discharged for stealing army supplies and was sent to the military prison, Fort Leavenworth, to serve the maximum sentence for his crimes.

When Carl left Fort Leavenworth in 1910, the experience had sculpted him into the man that he would remain for the rest of his life. His hatred for mankind was firmly ingrained and he set out to do unto others before they could do unto him. His lifelong campaign of terror could finally begin and nothing could stand in his way.

Kill 'Em All is a chilling and gripping account of one of the most brutal and gruesome true crime stories in American history. Ryan Green’s riveting narrative draws the listener into the real-live horror experienced by the victims and has all the elements of a classic thriller.

A chilling predator

Carl Panzram was as repulsive and unsympathetic of a monster as any I've encountered in true crime. His unrepentant savagery and lack of any moral compass was superlatively unsettling. Another great unhinged work from this author and narrator. This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Evil is the Gift That Keeps On Giving

First, this is a Ryan Green book, so I came into it expecting a fast-paced, psychologically insightful True Crime thriller about a horrifically compelling monster. "Kill 'Em All" proved to be all of that and more. It's the story of brutal serial murderer and rapist, Carl Panzram. What was most interesting to me was the detail and insight Green includes about the constant, indescribable abuse Panzram suffered at a young age, which was almost a primer on "How To Build a Psychopathic Serial Killer from Scratch." It doesn't in any way lessen the horror and senseless brutality of what Panzram did through his entire life, but it put it into a psychological context that is rare in True Crime books about serial killers. The narration, voiced by one of the two regular narrators Green has used in the past, was excellent as usual. The only criticism I could honestly make about "Kill 'Em All" would also be a sort of backhanded compliment: the 4-hour run time didn't quite feel like enough, given the depth and scope of Panzram's incredible story. I didn't necessarily get the sense that the author left anything out, but by the time I was reading the last few pages I was definitely not ready to leave the story for another book I was given this book by the author at no charge for an honest review, Over the past few years I've listened to every one of Green's books, and I genuinely loved them all. But this one is way up near the top of the list for me. If you enjoy fast-paced True Crime books, I would bet on "Kill 'Em All" being up near the top of your list as well. Highly recommended.

Interesting

This was quite an interesting book. Carl Panzram proves that some people are just born evil.

How to create a monster

This book tells the story of Carl Panzram , one of the most vicious murderers in crime history. Well-written.Well narrated.Excerpts from his personal diary. His encounter with a kind, decent prison guard ,encouraged Panzram to write a diary. Fascinating story of a terrible human being who had no nurturing whatsoever as a child. Perhaps if he had been even a little bit loved,he might not have become the revengeful ,self-hating monster who stole, raped, and murdered his entire life.

Another excellent book from Ryan Green!

This is the story of Carl Panzram, it’s brutal and horrific and well told. Carl had no emotion, gave no mercy, and cared about no one-he was the perfect serial killer. He spent time in prison for some of his lesser crimes, and the guards brutalized him horribly, and hardened his body and mind even further. Ryan’s storytelling is masterful, he isn’t too wordy but he gives just enough detail to grab you and hang onto you. Definitely give this one a try, it’ll leave you breathless!

No real story.

This is not a book I would have chosen to read if I had known it was just a long list of the same crimes committed by the same man. There is no background of the family and no real story told.

Kill 'Em All

I had never heard of Carl Panzram before this book. He was a horrible person. The story was hard to listen to at times, but it was very well written and wonderfully narrated.

Great serial Murder story

I listen to the majority of true crime stories regarding Serial Killers on Audible. This is definitely one of the better ones and is thorough, disturbing yet extremely entertaining.

Kill 'Em All

I'm not really sure how to rate this book. The story was well written but the content was sad and horrific. Carl turned out to be a monster but I don't think he ever had a chance in life. He was abused as a chid just as much as he abused and murdered others when he was an adult. This story has lots of triggers and isn't meant for the faint of heart. Steve White did a great job narrating this story. I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

Ryan and Steve have done it again

I cannot recommend this duo enough. Ryan's writing is superb and Steve's narration is always brilliant. It is always interesting to me to see the build to up what makes a person do these monstrous things, I think it's because I could never imagine doing them. It is chilling and horrifying to hear but it is honest and true - perhaps that is what makes it so hard to listen to. Listen to this to hear how unapologetic these people can be. *I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Bone Chilling.

Wow, such a bone chilling listen. Carl's lack of empathy and morals were truly unsettling. I had never heard of Carl before listening to this book, and I have to agree with some of the other reviewers - he simply has to be the most evil killer. The narration was perfect, I highly recommend listening to more of Steve White's narrations, which I plan to do too! Very well narrated. It makes you think about who we share the world with! I've not heard about this man before and I'm very pleased that I don't know anyone so trubbled.
