Publisher's summary

Experienced language arts teacher Kevin Bolger knows the types of stories kids devour. His popular Sir Fartsalot Hunts the Booger was called “Don Quixote for nine-year-olds, filtered through Captain Underpants and Monty Python” (Quill and Quire).

In Zombiekins, wimpy fourth-grader Stanley Nudelman spends a lot of time hiding from school bully Knuckles Bruzkowski. But then Stanley finds an interesting stuffed animal at Old Lady Imavitch’s yard sale. Zombiekins is part bunny, part teddy bear—and 100% zombie!

Very Funny! A Delightful Read!

If you could sum up Zombiekins in three words, what would they be?

Funny, Zombie, Kids

Any additional comments?

A very cute depiction of a usually terrifying topic - zombies! But when poor Stanley unknowingly unleashes a zombie doll on his elementary school, it's hilariously spook-tacular the way the students react. Just wait til you hear what happens to the kindergarteners. A fun listen, and not scary at all.

Funny for adults too

Where does Zombiekins rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Pretty good. I was surprised at how engaging it was for me as an adult (listening to it in the car with my 9 and 7 year old).

What did you like best about this story?

The kids missed a lot of the sarcasm but it kept me engaged enough to keep listening. I was initially against listening to a book called "Zombiekins" but it was pretty funny.

What does Johnny Heller bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Dry humor. His tone was perfect for the sarcasm without being mean.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Never buy anything from haunted house yard sales.
