favorite story

My grandson is 4.9 years old and listens to this story as often as I will play it. We usually listen to books, in the car and he is spellbound every time. Well read, good inflections, and nice to hear a man's voice doing the reading.

Pictures?

Other audio books scroll through the pics but not this one. Not sure why this is so.

Delightful performance!

This is a cute story, but the narrator really brought it to life. I loved it!

Enjoyable Classic

My children love the book version and are very familiar with the story so I thought they'd like the audio version as well.
It's a great story and well narrated, but would have benefited from the synchronized pictures that some other kids audible books have. The beautiful illustrations are what made the book so popular to begin with. Listening to the story without the pictures feels like something is missing. Indeed at the end my daughter asked me where the butterfly picture was, and was disappointed when told this one didn't have pictures.

A Cute Classic

Any additional comments?

This book is a classic and the narrator is fantastic -- good voice, inflection and pace. Synchronized images would have made it perfect. These kinds of books really need the pictures to go along.

Great story!

If you could sum up The Very Hungry Caterpillar in three words, what would they be?

It tells of nature.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The butterfly is my favorite character. Butterflies are the big surprise to tell children.

Which character – as performed by Mike Ferreri – was your favorite?

Butterfly at end.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Any additional comments?

I was disappointed with this audio book. I purchased it for my 2 year old grandson. I wanted pictures to go with it.
