Publisher's summary

When Percy Jackson receives an urgent distress call from his friend Grover, he immediately prepares for battle. He knows he'll need his powerful demigod allies, Annabeth and Thalia, at his side; his trusty bronze sword, Riptide; and...a ride from his mom.

The demigods race to the rescue, to find that Grover has made an important discovery: two new powerful half-bloods whose parentage is unknown. But that's not all that awaits them. The Titan lord, Kronos, has set up his most devious trap yet, and the young heroes have just fallen prey.

Hilarious and action-packed, this third adventure in the series finds Percy faced with his most dangerous challenge so far: the chilling prophecy of the Titan's curse.

Character Voices are Difficult

After listening to the first three books back to back, I found myself very irritated with the decision to change Mr. D’s voice to that of the Cyclopes. Grover’s voice was also made to be so much more nasally than in previous books. The complete lack of consistency nearly had me giving up on the audio book due to how distracting it was.

That, in addition to how racist Annabeth’s step-mother was portrayed, and how absurdly Blackjack’s thoughts were read, detracted from the reading dramatically.

I loved how the first two books were narrated, but this was a really disappointing performance. Crossing my fingers for the upcoming books, but my hopes won’t be too high.

Another great addition

As always a great mix of myth, story, and pop culture. This one is a little sadder than the other two but a great continuation of the story. Great set up for the next story.

It just gets better

Percy Jackson find any way to go on a quest and this one is pretty interesting I think because the characters are starting to make more life long choices. The reader for this book does all the character voices justices so you never get confused. I highly recommend it! AUDIBLE 20 REVIEW SWEEPSTAKES ENTRY

Good Story

I was very interested in the story and in the characters. However, just like the previous two books, the character voices and the weird tone the narrator used for some of the moments killed it for me. I found myself thinking that I wanted this character (the I loved when reading the physical copy of this book) to hurry up and leave the story just so they would stop talking.
