Publisher's Summary

John Flanagan's New York Times best-selling Ranger's Apprentice novels enthrall young readers with their epic tales of heroism and sorcery set in the medieval realm of Araluen. Ranger Will, an apprentice no longer, nobly oversees his own peaceful fief. But then Keren, a renegade knight serving the dreaded Scotti, seizes a strategic gateway castle in the north - taking Will's dear friend Alyss captive in the process. Now the fates of Alyss and all of Araluen rest on Will's valor and swift action.

Huzzah! for the Skandians!

Another great installment in the Ranger's Apprentice series. I have waited so long for this one to be available on Audible so I could continue on with the rest of the series. What a fantastic book. Flanagan does it again, weaving an intriguing story and pulling so many different factions together. If you like the other books, you will like this one just as much or even more!

Good but not the best

Great book but I feel as if it could have been combined with the last (which was left on a cliffhanger).

Amazing!

I've listened to 6 books of the rangers apprentice ,I've already read the first 3 a couple years back but recently remembered the name of the books that so eagerly grasped my attention . And I've started the whole series over! It's literally the only 7 books in my phone ! I say 7 because I just purchased it's πŸ‘Œ.
Favorite series of books by far. I will now start the 7th... Thank you very much

I did make it to Book 6

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I was really hooked after the first book, so I bought the next 5 books right away, I am glad I did not buy all of them.

What could John Flanagan have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

I was really enjoying the first 2 books, but after the burning bridge things seemed to go downhill, I was expecting more, and was getting less,

Which character – as performed by John Keating – was your favorite?

Will, of course, however I also liked Halt's sense of humor and the way he made his presence felt.

What character would you cut from The Siege of Macindaw?

I would have cut John Buttle, his character was needed, but there were times when I thought he was not needed.

Any additional comments?

The series starts out awesome, I like the progression of the characters, but it was the progression of the characters that I was enjoying the most, turning Will into a junkie really made the series take a nose dive, I would not expect that type of situation, a potion or spell but not a narcotic.
