    "Nice story."

The story was good and very multicultural. The romantic tension between the characters was interesting and unpredictable. Great pacing.

    "Great Storytelling, though puritanical"

Riordan's use of LGBTQ subject matter clearly demonstrates an understanding that today's teens have a deeper understanding of sexual fluidity and tolerance than have most of past generations.

It is only a shame that the character tones and attitudes are still written as though it were 1950.

The truth is that while today's youth may have an unhealthy maturity (and experience) level when it comes to sexual matters, the creation of these unrealistic personalities seem to clash with it. Gender/Orientation fluidity is not necessarily tied indelibally to promiscuity, but a modern 16-18 yr old would not be blown away by hand-holding.

The author is trying to force together 1950's puritanical modesty and purity values with modern day LGBT and sexual maturity; the two (while not mutually exclusive) aren't as widespread as the characters appear to make it. I am sure that there exists in modern society sexuallyu mature people with modest beliefs, but it is unrealistic for EVERY character to fall into that category when it would be difficult to find a single real life example.

In summary, modern teens and young adults struggle with sexuality, but are not shocked by it because it exists everywhere. While I would never expect a YA book to depict explicit acts, it is disingenuous to avoid it altogether as though these mature teens are oblivious.
Implication alone would give the story far more realism and believability.

In a story about Gods, DemiGods, etc... its laughable that the one real thing in the story (the teenagers) is unrealistic.

"Another good story but the narration ugh"

Why is it so hard to have consistency? You read several of these books and different narrators pronounce words different ways and it throws off the entire vibe of the book they can even pronounce the name is the same way it’s not that hard people listen to the previous narrator and copy what they did

    "Great Voice Acting"

Michael Crouch is a wonderful job creating the voices of all the characters. Amazing how he could perform all the unique personalities. Very made the story come to life.

    "Awful"

This is hands down the worst panteon books i have ever wasted my time on. The Percy Jackson novels as well as the Roman and Egyptian adaptations were amazing, but this Norse pantheon series of books have been downright atrocious.

YA books are not proper space for such concepts. Riodan has jumped the shark with this book.
