Publisher's Summary

Something strange is happening at the Clarksville City Zoo. Late at night, monkeys are scaling the walls and searching the neighborhood—but what are they looking for?

Noah, his sister Megan, and their best friends, Richie and Ella, live next door to the zoo. Megan is the first to notice the puzzling behavior of some of the animals. One day Megan disappears, and her brother and their friends realize it’s up to them to find her. Their only choice is to follow a series of clues and sneak into the zoo. But once inside, will they discover there’s much more to the Clarksville City Zoo than they could ever have guessed?

My 9 year old loves it!

Would you listen to The Secret Zoo again? Why?

Yes. We decided to try an audio book on a car trip and this was the one I choose. My kids loved it. Especially my 9 year old son. He doesn't like to read but when this was done he asked me to buy him the book. I may have found a way to get him more interested in books. Yay!

What about Patrick Lawlor’s performance did you like?

He did a great job with all the voices and he was great with the sound effects.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. The kids were so bummed every time I had to pause it.

Many giggles and many listens from my 5 year old

Any additional comments?

My daughter loves audio books her three favorites are any Magic Treehouse, The Jesus Storybook Bible (the narrator is excellent besides telling our favorite Bible lessons), and this book. I don't find the narrator all that exciting, but I didn't get the book for me.

A great listen

What made the experience of listening to The Secret Zoo the most enjoyable?

My 8 year old daughter loved this adventure and I enjoyed the bits I 'overheard'. The narrator's voice was a little hard to listen to at times but his character voices were good on the whole. We are looking forward to the sequel being available on audible.

Kids ages 7 and 9

This book seemed well suited for my 7 and 9 year old.
Some characters in story seemed a bit tasteless like the nerdy yet forever sheepish Ritchie. Some plot lines were poorly developed (like lack of enough detail regarding the secret zoo).
Overall a good book though, and kids did enjoy.
