Not unabridged

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I was listening to this with my daughter while reading along with the book (The Pie and the Patty Pan). There was quite a bit of dialogue that was skipped over. It didn't harm the story, but I was expecting it to be the entire text of the book if this is going to say unabridged.

Not a great voice for these tales.

Stories good of course but recommend a different reader. I like Pauline Brailsford (last name sp).

Lovely selection for $.95!

What made the experience of listening to The Peter Rabbit Collection the most enjoyable?

This selection was discounted to $.95 which made it wonderfully affordable. My children love to listen to the stories and look at the book at the same time. Peter Batchelor has a deep, baritone voice and a classic British accent. It reminds me of a grandfather reading the tales. He does a very nice sing-song and various voices, but does not have the range, of, say, Jim Dale. However, I think it very appropriate for these stories.

Which character – as performed by Peter Batchelor – was your favorite?

Peter Batchelor performs a great Mr. MacGregor. He is crusty and bitter and a little villainous. Mr. MacGregor is such a nebulous character in my memory. He does an excellent job bringing him to life.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I'm not sure anyone wants to listen to ALL the Potter stories in one sitting, but this is very nice. It is very easy to select the story one wants. My children use it on their own.

A little hard to understand the accent

My kids couldn't understand the stories very well because of the accent, but the stories are so sweet that we will read them again.

Perfect for my 5 year old

If you could sum up The Peter Rabbit Collection in three words, what would they be?

cute, funny, fable

What did you like best about this story?

The stories are nice and short. Perfect for my 5 year old's attention span.

What about Peter Batchelor’s performance did you like?

He reads in such a way that I even found myself giggling once or twice while listening along.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Nope.

Any additional comments?

Price was perfect.

Story might be OK but it impossible to listen it

Any additional comments?

Narrator reads funny voices but it is IMPOSSIBLE even for me (and for my kid) to understand WHAT EXACTLY HE SAYS.

Too fast!

The performer reads this so quickly that I have trouble keeping up, let alone children understanding the story. I'll never understand why children's books aren't read slow enough for, well, children!

story is good, narrator is not so

the narrator reads too fast, which combined with his British accent makes it more difficult for young kids to understand
