Publisher's summary

When all the humans in his world disappear, Max, a yellow Labrador Retriever, begins the search for his family. He knows that if he can just find Madame Curie, a wise, old black Lab, she'll be able to help. Madame had a premonition of astonishing events to come - she must know where Max's family is.

But Max can't make the journey alone. Joined by friends Rocky and Gizmo, Max sets off to find Madame. Along the way, the trio must face a pack of angry wolves, forage for food in a land where kibble is akin to gold, befriend a house full of cats, and outsmart a gang of subway rats. Ultimately, they'll have to escape from the biggest threat of all: the Corporation, a "perfect" society for dogs and by dogs, where nothing is quite as it seems.

The Last Dogs: The Vanishing is the first audiobook in a thrilling new series about three unlikely friends on an epic quest to find their people - and bring them home.

A triumph of friendship, courage, and heart.

What did you love best about The Last Dogs: The Vanishing?

The concept. That was the selling point for me, you know what im talking about if you ever have read/seen The Quiet Earth by craig harrison.

Who was your favorite character and why?

For me its Max, His pure heart and desire to be reunited with his pack leaders drives the emotions and story forward. A dog out of place in this strange new world its a nice touch to a rather darkened narrative.

What does Andrew Bates bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His voice carried the images, smells, and smiles. But more importantly he carried the emotion. I am very fond of Andrew Bates now, I hope he reads the fourth and final novel in the last dogs series!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When madame told max, rocky, and gizmo their destiny that lies at sea. It was so emotional and really sets up the series as a powerhouse of emotions and death.

Any additional comments?

10/10 for me.

The Last Puppers

A hood book with some interesting charchters I could call the twist a lot but this was written for 7-10 so to be fair as a 13 year old it easier. I like book and I hope the second one is just as good.

The Last Dogs

I have loved animals and have long accepted the idea that my dogs would travel half way around the world for me. I think it's so sweet how Max, Rocky and Gizmo are so loyal to their families and each other. This series never gets old!
