Story
I thought I knew everything there was to know about my parents, like what they always eat for breakfast. Then one morning, everything changes. Mom suddenly hates tea and loves cornflakes and Dad’s scarfing down poached eggs like there’s no tomorrow - which, by the way, there may not be unless I can figure out what’s gone wrong. Can it really be that Mom and Dad have been replaced by aliens from another world? And what the heck happened to our dog?

Story
Johanna Wise longed to be a part of the rich popular clique at Shadyside High School. When Dennis Arthur, the star of the track team and one of the most popular guys in school, asks Johanna out it is a dream come true. They seem to have so much in common as they joke about school and creative ways to get rid of their least favorite teacher, Mr. Northwood. When Dennis dares her to actually kill Mr. Northwood Johanna jokingly says yes. The problem is that the entire school is taking her seriously - including Dennis.

Just Bad
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Even when I was 10 I don't think I would have liked this. The performers talk down to you, and the excessive description of being eaten has some weird vibes.
How could the performance have been better?
Less random laughing in the background

A Perfect Audio Book
This audio book was just what I was looking for - a short story for along the way to school for my son. Only 14 minutes, leaving enough time to discuss it. It fulfilled my every desire for an audio book - really great narrator-actors, (the best I've come across actually), a great story using vocabulary that my 5 year old could mostly understand, with a tad new words to challenge him somewhat and a crystal clear recording, which is so important for the car. We were literally captivated while listening.
This audio book's excellence turned out to be a problem in the end. It was so captivating that my son's imagination became hijacked by the story. Suddenly, he has become afraid in our house at night time and insists on never being left alone. Parents of young kids should know that there's a pretty scary monster in this one.
