Publisher's summary

It all started with a birthday present that Omri didn't want: a small plastic Indian that was no use to him at all. But an old wooden cupboard and a special key brought his unusual toy to life, and strange and wonderful things began to happen.

As Omri struggles to balance his real life in England with the characters of the Wild West of 18th century America, his incredible adventures are a fantasy beyond his wildest imagination.

My 7 year old loved it!

A great story for kids that doesn't involve magic, dystopian futures, or vampires! My son had very rigid tastes in stories and they do not follow what is on trend right now. But then I remembered this favorite of mine from elementary school and it was right up his alley.

Narrator/author fantastic!

This is the second recording by this author/narrator my son and I have listened to together. She is amazing: great voice, great sense of timing. I wish Audible carried more books by her.

Magic

This book is magic. I think at first, my children struggled to keep pace with the rapid British speaking of the author. After a chapter or two, they were enthralled.

Loved every minute!

Excellent story for children and adults alike. My 8 year old son loved it. The author reading her own story was incredible.
