Inspiring people doing exciting things.

Would you listen to The Icebound Land again? Why?

Yes, because the creative, good-hearted, and courageous young adults inspire me.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I love Will because of his non-stop pursuit of perfection at his trade, and because of his love and gratefulness for the people in his life.

What about John Keating’s performance did you like?

I really appreciate his talent with the voices. The recording is a little unprofessional as you hear him swallowing and breathing at each new chapter.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The battle, when Will was diving and firing and picking off the enemy.

Any additional comments?

Great series, I love it.

Needs an Edit

Story: As always I love this series. A great start for young readers

Performance: I definitely recommend the Keating version above all others, however this particular book has some oddities. Strange gaps between chapters and odd noises where the reader needed to clear his throat. A great performance that suffers from poor editing.

Great Story with a Poor Production

What made the experience of listening to The Icebound Land the most enjoyable?

The story is very exciting.

Any additional comments?

The recording is very poor. You can hear the narrator swallowing or drinking throughout the story. It was so distracting.

Good continuation of Ranger series

Would you listen to The Icebound Land again? Why?

Probably wouldn't listen again if my 11 year old weren't insisting on it. I adore the characters but found this installment darker and more depressing.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Icebound Land?

The ending is a happy moment. Overall this felt like an interim installment in a multi-volume arc.

Which scene was your favorite?

The Halt and Horace scenes were my favorite.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I found parts hard to listen to since I'm very fond of the characters.

Any additional comments?

I wouldn't recommend this installment to younger, more sensitive listeners. The first two I would recommend to all ages who were old enough to follow the narrative.

Entertainment for the whole family

The story is engaging and the reader is magnificent. His ability to change his voice quickly and take on other characters’ voices is magnificent. My entire family is enjoying this audio book series. Well done!

Who produced this?

This story is great and has a great Narrator. However, the audio producer is either bad at the job or lazy. The listener should never hear giant gaps with the narrator smacking his lips and then in other places, where there is a setting change or a time skip, theater is no space, as if it's a huge run on sentence.

Rangers Apprentice series

Love the whole series! Really impressed that all magic and sorcery is shown as tricks and with explanations. So glad Flanagan's son needed a hero!

Great story - Needs better editing

I liked the story, but the editing needs to be better. There were long dead spaces at the end of the chapters with soft sounds like someone drink water, lip smacking, etc. as if the narrator was getting ready to continue. It got to be quite annoying. They could easily cut all that out.
