Publisher's summary

Artemis is at boarding school in Ireland when he receives an urgent e-mail from Russia. In it is a plea from a man who has been kidnapped by the Russian Mafia: his father. As Artemis rushes to his rescue, he is stopped by a familiar nemesis, Captain Holly Short of the LEPrecon fairy police. Right Up My Alley

As a big fan of Terry Pratchett, my wife introduced me to the Artemis Fowl series. It doesn't disappoint--just the right blend of humor, fantasy, even sci-fi (faerie tech). All my favorite genres for fiction. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series. Also, Nathaniel Parker does a bang up job with the reading--great with accents and voices. I'd bet he can give Jim Dale a run for his money.

Highly Enjoyable

As a mother of very young children, I'm always on the hunt for books that interest me, yet are kid friendly. (no cussing, vulgarity, etc) The Artemis Fowl books are wonderful. Yes, they are technically children's books, but they definitely have enough depth and plot to interest adults. The narrator does an excellent job, and is one of the few I really enjoy. Beware- the last Artemis Fowl book has a different narrator.

Intriguing from start to finish

Eoin Colfer does it again. His attention to detail paints the fairy world beautifully. You are able to visualize and understand everything he writes. Fairies have always seemed girlish to me. But not now. Eoin Colfer has given me a whole new outlook on the little people. This book is packed with adventure and has a heartwarming touch. Get this book, and enjoy! For children and adults!

If you have not read Artemis Fowl, I recommend starting there first. The first book provides much to the plot of this book. You are sure to enjoy them both.

Well written - well read

Once again, in "The Arctic Incident," Eoin Colfer delivers a very engaging story. This is more of a children's book, but the story is also very interesting from an adult perspective. These books are a bit more involved than the average young adult book, as they deal with more advanced topics involving a more mature Artemis. All in all, a very good listen. It will engage you from the start and you will want to listen all day.

My favorite Artemis Fowl

Will Artemis find his father? Will his heart remember how to do more than beat? Will his gucci loafers survive? The answer this and many more questions can be had with the 2nd (and best in my opinion) in the Atemis Fowl series. This exciting story of warmth, love and family is wrapped in package of faires, snow, radiation and a spoiled genius. The descriptions and details of the fairy world are great - and Artemis - as always - is sassy as ever.

These are quite good!

I got tired of listening to foul language, so I chose to give these a try. I am very glad I did. These stories are wonderful, well-written, and just all around enjoyable. The best part is that I never have to worry about who is in the room while I listen to a great story.

Fun Book Series, Nat Parker Makes It Fantastic

love the series, the character growth, the world building. Nat Parker is the king of Audiobooks, and I'm forever forgetting that it's not different people reading each character.

Superb Performance!!!

Nathaniel Parker is fantastic! I enjoy his narrations as much as I do Jim dales. I can't read these books anymore, because I just want to hear the narration. It's that good! I am 52 years old and enjoy these books more than our young teenage kids!
