Publisher's summary

A hint from their parents' past puts Amy and Dan on the trail of secrets their grandmother Grace would NEVER have wanted them to know. Awful memories begin to crowd in on Amy, just as her enemies circle closer. How far would she go to protect Dan? How much of a Cahill is she prepared to be? Perhaps Grace was right - some secrets are better left buried.

Complexity for the whole family

This installment in the series offers a lot of complexity and nuance. It would offer a good chance for the whole family to discuss the story and how it relates to your own family. Overall the narration and production are excellent.

just read it

i cannot comment on every writer individually because the books sort of ran together for me during a week trip. I read them all and cannot pinpoint every writer.
I can say that they were all wonderful and have great stories mixed with history and geography. They can teach in a great fun exciting atmosphere.

secrets can never be kept secret

In this book the children follow clues about their parents which leads them to visit a cousin they haven't seen or heard from since their parents died 8 years ago. In this book the kids are on the run from Isabel Cabra, Ian and Natalie's mom, she has joined the race and wants to put harm on the kids. They find out some secrets about their Opear that has them looking wondering what kind of a past does she have and can they really trust her. Amy starts to remember different memories from the night of the fire when their parents dies, what she remembers are things that Grace would have probably never wanted her to remember, she has to wonder is it true what Grace told them, that some secrets should be left buried? They find out that secrets between them only hurt them more than help them. It is hard for them to tell who is lying to them and who is telling them the truth, but they have realized that they must win, this is what Grace wanted, she prepared them for this, and this is what their parents died for.

A great series

All these books are very enjoyable. The concept for the series was created by the author of the first book then the author invited others to write subsequent books with the same characters. The flow between books is seamless. The characters and plot are well-developed. David Pittu is an outstanding reader, and it's great that he was the reader for all the books. I waited a few years after my first listen and am repeating the whole series over!

Great book I recommend it!

The book was phenomenal! It was filled with suspense, and every chapter had a new surprise. I would greatly recommend this book if you have read the previous 5.
