definitely geared toward kids

I only got this because I have the books on my shelf from a bulk buy and I wanted an easy read. I don't know that I would recommend. good things: is clean, it had ties with unexplored characters from the rebels show, and has decent writing.

Love the tie-ins to other stories/characters

This series of stories is obviously aimed at kids, but it features a lot of the alien species from the original trilogy, and ties in with stories from the Rebels television series and hints at other stuff like Kessel (from the Solo movie). So it's fun for adult fans too. It takes place very shortly after Anakin's fall to the dark side and the rise of the Empire...because Ezra is a baby...so about 18 or 19 years before A New Hope.

No music or sound effects?!

The story and narration were both superb but there's no music or sound effects like I've grown accustomed to with all other Star Wars books.

No sound effects?

I realize this is a children’s book series but the sound effects and musical cues that I’ve grown accustomed to in Star Wars audio books are sorely missed here. Otherwise the books and January’s performance are great.

Fun for Kids, Okay for Adults

This is a story arc that has its fun moments, but overall doesn't affect the main story of Star Wars. It has a cool tie in to Rebels, but otherwise its just a story that happens while the Empire reigns supreme. Its a fun story for kids to learn more about the universe, but listening as an adult the story is merely okay.

January LaVoy is a goddess and gave a fun performance even without the added bells and whistles Lucasfilm usually adds to their audiobooks. She made the story very fun and the characters lively.
