Publisher's Summary

Brady loves life on the Chesapeake Bay with his friends J.T. and Digger. But developers and rich families are moving into the area, and while Brady befriends some of them, like the DiAngelos, his parents and friends are bitter about the changes.

Tragedy strikes when the DiAngelosâ¿¿ kayak overturns in the bay, and Brady wonders if it was more than an accident. Soon, Brady discovers the terrible truth behind the kayakâ¿¿s sinking, and it will change the lives of those he loves forever.

Priscilla Cummings deftly weaves a suspenseful tale of three teenagers caught in a wicked web of deception.

My experience

I loved it, even though it was five hours it was a good book, and I'll recommend it as one of the best books.

A middle school read

My daughter had to read it for middle school as an assignment. I decided to listen to it after she had read the book and listen to it for more clarity. I truly enjoyed it.

[Fart Sound Goes Here]

I certainly didn't make it far in this, and so I do understand how some of you may feel my review is unfair. Doesn't change that despite my effort it bored me to tears. By the time I had invested I should have experienced SOME fleeting interest. Nope. I just wish I could get a credit on this one.

Red Kayak not what I expected

Brady has a great, open relationship with his parents. He is able to talk to them without fear of punishment. He has a conscience and wants to help the family of the dead child overcome their loss. He is able to identify with the loss of this child because his little sister died as a toddler. Brady is a somewhat of a too-good-to-be-true character and, therefore, not completely realistic. I had a hard time getting beyond his corny, somewhat over the top goody-good boy persona. The book moves too slowly to keep my interest.
