Incomplete

They left out about half of the book, perhaps more. Would have liked a warning.

Colman Audio Version is Abridged

The audio version read by Olivia Coleman is definitely abridged. There was nothing in the listing that mentioned this. I generally avoid abridged books, so this was disappointing. The strangest part, though, is what was cut out. The dramatic rescue where Bobbi stops the train and saves a bunch of people? Glossed over in a single paragraph with no detail. Mother’s beautiful poetic response when asked if she would prefer to be writing their story? Completely gone.
The narrator was the best part, as her voice fits the story perfectly. I hate to steer anyone away from a great narrator, but if you love the original Railway Children book, or hope to love it, skip this audio version.
