Publisher's Summary

As a child, great-aunt Alice Rumphius resolved that when she grew up she would go to faraway places, live by the sea in her old age, and do something to make the world more beautiful - and she does all those things, the last being the most difficult of all.

A lovely reminder for us all

This is a beautiful little children story that every adult should also read. The narrator did a fine job. The story is so short that to give almost any review is to tell it myself, so I won't but I recommend it to everyone. It will make your day a little brighter.

Childhood classic

I was read this book as a child and love reading it to my children. It's great to have an audio copy so my little ones can listen in the car while looking at the pictures.

Miss Rumphius

Read "Miss Rumphius" countless times to my children while they were growing. Waiting to read it again to my grandchildren, meanwhile the child in me loves to read and listen to it on audio. It portrays my view on life: to make the world a better place for others. Miss Toren brings the story to life, her soothing voice calms me down and brings tears to my eyes. Yes, there are still people out there who want to make the world a better place and I'm one of them. Bravo!
