Publisher's summary

Sara Pennypacker has earned a solid fan base for her energetic Clementine books, which feature good humor and clever wordplay.

Third-grader Clementine constantly has brilliant ideas popping into her brain, but sometimes they get her into trouble. Only a few people really understand her - her parents, of course, and her favorite teacher, Mr. D'Matz.

When he receives an opportunity to do research in Egypt, Clementine hatches a plan to keep him at her school - but as usual, it doesn't quite work out the way she wants.

Unabridged but missing printed book's content

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, very well narrated: animated voice and intonation were spot on; great ability to convey varying emotions of characters.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Good story--worth the read/listening.

Which character – as performed by Jessica Almasy – was your favorite?

n/a

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

n/a

Any additional comments?

Bought this audio book for my daughter to read along with her printed version of the same title. The audio book was missing content from the printed version. She was disappointed and quickly lost interest in continuing reading along.

Ouch! When you have a good teacher....

What did you like best about this story?

Clementine's teacher obviously just clicks with Clementine. They are a match you wish all kids had in school. When Clementine realizes she might lose her teacher she just writes what she thinks will keep her teacher in her school.

What about Jessica Almasy’s performance did you like?

Perfect!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Not required to listen in one sitting but it is short and full of laughs.

Any additional comments?

For reasons I do not understand, some of these books are listed as Sarah Pennypacker and others are Sara Pennypacker. Make sure you see all 6 books when you search for Clementine. While not exactly critical, it is helpful to listen in order. First is Clementine, second is The Talented Clementine, 3rd - Clementine's Letter, 4th - Friend of the Week, 5th - Family Meeting, 6th - Spring Trip.

Audible, could we have a View The Series link for these books?

A Story for the Whole Family

Where does Clementine's Letter rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Both my 6 year old daughter, my 9 year old son, and my 69 year old mother all enjoy listening, laughing and reading the Clementine books together. The kids will listen to the whole series over and over again.

Good stories, too expensive though

I liked books 2 through 7 in the Clementine series more than the first one. I have to admit, they are pretty good. My daughter loved them and I eventually warmed up to them.

What I did not warm to was the price. Each book is about two hours long, but they are priced the same as much longer books. That doesn’t seem fair.

If they were sold in bundles of 3 or maybe even 2 stories I would be good with that. But at one credit per book, I will return them, get my credits back, and get longer books for my kids. Maybe if this series goes on sale, I’ll re-buy them then.
