Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No. I'm returning it. The narrator sounded like a computer. The lilt of his voice and the way he read the sentences sounded very mechanical. His actual elf voice was great. But I couldn't bear it otherwise. Even with the cute sound effects, my daughter lost interest and couldn't finish it.
How could the performance have been better?
With a different narrator, it might have been a christmas treasure.
Was Children's Book: The Christmas Elf worth the listening time?
Not for us.
Any additional comments?
The overall story was sweet. An elf goes on missions to help cheer up children at Christmas. Truly a sweet Christmas spirit. Maybe try the print version and snuggle up to read it to your kids yourself.
I enjoyed the part of this book that took kids having a hard time finding joy for Christmas due to there specific situations
1) death of a parent
2) family being unable to attend
3)divorce
4) a move to a new town
I love when stories include things that kids often feel they are the only one who feels this way and shows others do too. My kids enjoyed listening and Tinsel did offer kids some solutions they can do on there own to fix holiday blues but the narrators overly slow pronunciation of his words I found to be bothersome.
