Publisher's summary
Queen Cimorene, Morwen the witch, and a host of other characters once again foil the plots of the perfidious wizards in this third volume of the Enchanted Forest Chronicles.
This time, the dastardly wizards have stolen King Mendanbar's magic sword, vital to the health of the forest, right out of the castle armory. Morwen joins Cimorene, Kazul, Telemain, several cats, and Killer on a quest to retrieve the sword. Meanwhile, back at home, the forces of the wizards are gathering.

Story
Eve looks like an ordinary 12-year-old girl, but there’s nothing ordinary about her. She has no last name. No parents or guardian. She’s on the run from a dangerous and secretive organization that will stop at nothing to track her down. And most astonishing of all: she’s a robot, a product of Eden Laboratories. When Eve discovers the truth, she realizes everything she thought she knew about herself is a lie. Eve manages to escape, fleeing the lab, the only home she’s ever known.

Story
The kingdom of Cornucopia was once the happiest in the world. It had plenty of gold, a king with the finest moustache you could possibly imagine, and butchers, bakers, and cheesemongers whose exquisite foods made a person dance with delight when they ate them. Everything was perfect - except for the misty Marshlands to the north, which, according to legend, were home to the monstrous Ickabog. Anyone sensible knew that the Ickabog was just a myth to scare children into behaving. But the funny thing about myths is that sometimes they take on a life of their own.

Favorite in series
This is my favorite book in the series to listen to, particularly because the cats and the rabbit-turned-donkey are so well voiced. With a full cast adding amazing texture to the already-funny narrative, I give this 5 stars.

This has been one of my favourite audio books since I first listened to it 15 years ago and it is still my go to story when I want a light hearted adventure.

My favorite in the series!
My favorite in the series, maybe mostly because of Fiddlesticks, Arglefraster, and what happens with head wizard Zemenar and Arona Michaelear Vamist. ;-) If you haven't read yet, then that's all I'll say on the matter, but if you have read you know what I mean. :-D the only downside is Telemain (his just sounds annoying and hesitant where I never ever felt he was hesitant wheni reading the books) and Killer's voice makes him sound not intelligent and scared, and I always felt like he was scared and foolish which would sound different than not intelligent. The story itself is great and I've known it since I was about 12 and I'm 37 now. I highly encourage you to listen and if the voices get to you, switch to the books cause they really are a great read. :-)

Fantastic - the best in the series
This book is phenomenal and I find myself listening to it over and over again. The narration and voice actors are superb, the plot is interesting, and this work is just generally fantastic. Of all the books in The Enchanted Forest Chronicles, this one would have to be my favorite.
