Publisher's summary

In Hatchet, 13-year-old Brian Robeson learned to survive alone in the Canadian wilderness, armed only with his hatchet. Finally, as millions know, he was rescued at the end of the Summer. But what if Brian hadn't been rescued? What if he had been left to face his deadliest enemy - Winter?

Gary Paulsen raises the stakes for survival in this riveting and inspiring story as one boy confronts the ultimate test and the ultimate adventure.

Love this series

Love the survival isolation topic of the books. The story is told in such a great way. And the narrator, Mr. Coyote, brings it alive. I think he sounds a little bit like Bill Murry

Winter is Coming.

Brian survives winter, but it is a close call. I like how Brian's thoughts are processed in the story and that we get to see each step that leads up to them. Gary Paulsen really shows us how Brian comes up with his ideas for survival. I laughed at the Bear and the Skunk, I was on the edge of my seat for the Moose it was a great book. This is a clean survival story for all ages one that I will be reading again. Narrator is good.

Just as Hatchet, and The River, an absolutely fantastic story. I've grown attached to Brian.

Nice continuation.

This wad a nice continuation of Hatchet. It flowed well and I didn't feel as if there had been any break.

Better than Hatchet!

I honestly loved this book more than the original Hatchet! I really like the survival skills that Brian had to employ more than the surviving found in Hatchet. i may be partial as I grew up loving survival shows and books. Still think the performance with the music in the background helped in telling the story as it did in Hatchet!

Great read!

Really enjoyed listening to this book while on a road trip. Narrators voice is pleasing to listen to. A bit of background music helped with the story.
