I'm revisiting this book after reading it as a child, it is still really good! The narrator's performance is excellent, and certainly helps create just the experience I was looking for.

Had this book on cassette and loved it then and still love the story although the narrator wasn't as good as the first one I heard I still enjoyed this story.
fantastic... some very sad and Stressful moments. my ten year old daughter loved it too.. constant adventure. really keeps you on your toes.
Would you listen to Beyond the Deepwoods again? Why?
At some point, not doubt!
What was one of the most memorable moments of Beyond the Deepwoods?
The heroic gesture of a surprise furry friend (don't want to give the story away here!)
What does Michael Praed bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Well read - a light touch but compelling all the way.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I read this book years ago when it first came out and loved it - the weirdness and the wonder. There is a hint of Alice in Wonderland about it. Magical.
Any additional comments?
A delightful story that concludes by the end of the book... but then continues on with further books and stories of Twig and other heroes of the world. I do recommend reading the books too, if only to see the beautiful illustrations by Chris Riddell.
one of the most endearing and enchanting books I've read, so glad that there are more books in the series! you will love and enjoy this book!
