Dinosaurs had small brains, but they used them well, and when they saw the big lump of space rock coming, they escaped in huge, dung-powered spaceships before it hit. They went on evolving, and now both plant-eaters and meat-eaters have built massive empires way out in space in the Jurassic Quadrant. But the carnivores are never happy unless they're causing trouble. That's why the Dinosaur Space Service needs heroic herbivores to defend the Vegetarian Sector.
I discovered this book series while in the UK and brought them home for my 7yr old boy who immediately became addicted. The wonderful characters, the fast pace of the narrative, and the humour is absolutely spot on for the intended audience. And from a parent's perspective, the story line is nicely paced to make it well suited for a-few-chapters-at-bedtime style of reading, the story length is perfect for the child that is far too old for picture books but is not yet ready for the much longer stories aimed at the pre-teen audience, and the author's humour works for adults as well as kids. This book (and series) is perfect for all the dinosaur-mad small boys out there! My son can't wait for the other books in the series to be released as audio books!
