Publisher's Summary

Rediscover one of the most beloved children's books of all time: A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle:

Meg Murray, her little brother Charles Wallace, and their mother are having a midnight snack on a dark and stormy night when an unearthly stranger appears at their door. He claims to have been blown off course, and goes on to tell them that there is such a thing as a "tesseract," which, if you didn't know, is a wrinkle in time. Meg's father had been experimenting with time-travel when he suddenly disappeared. Will Meg, Charles Wallace, and their friend Calvin outwit the forces of evil as they search through space for their father?

It narrates the book so its really easy to understand. Madeline L'Engle made a great book using all the ideas she had. I loved the part where Meg using all her strengths to save Charles. It shows that she loves him so much. This was a wonderful book.

"wow! this was an incredible book . awesome!"

I read this book as a child in elementary school and still remembered apart of it. the story itself is really amazing and the narrator's voice is very convincing. If you love science fiction this book is a must

    "Overhyped .. I think"

I expected this book to be phenomenal from all the reviews it got. I am not sure if the performance weakened the story. Overall it was a light read (listen)
    I give it 2.5

I only wish the story could go on. What happens after the children return? What did the 3 ladies do? More, please!

So glad to listen to this book again! Just as fun as when I obsessed over it as a kid. Looking forward to re-reading the entire series over the next few months before the movie is released in 2018.

"THIS is how female leads SHOULD be done!"

Madeleine L'Engle's Wrinkle in Time is a fantastic read. It's fun, gripping, well-paced and thoughtful. It is REALLY great for teaching character development over time and tracing theme (particularly through dialogue). I love it, my students love it, and it's great fun to read every year!

    "Road trip with the kids"

We listened to this as a family over a few long trips in the car. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Meg and absolutely loved Charles Wallace.

It's a great book to create fun family discussions about feelings and family relationships and life outside our knowing..

    "First audio book!"

This was my first full audio book. I have hesitated listening to books on tape because of the samples I listened to in the past. I was pleasantly surprised by the narrator and how she gave a different life to each character. I loved it!!

    "For younger audiences"

A lot of 20th century fiction for children is enjoyable for even us old folk, but this one was only mildly entertaining. My 11 year old liked it though, so it's still works for its main target audience.
