Publisher's Summary

The ketogenic diet has been followed since the 1920s. It is not like the usual fad diets with limited long-term success rates; the keto diet is based on a solid understanding of nutritional science and physiology.

The ketogenic diet, also known as the fat-burning diet, takes an entirely different approach when it comes to wellness and weight loss; this is the most popular reason why this diet is followed. Most diets insist on limited food-intake, the necessity to have a check on calories, extensive exercise regimen, and quite a lot of willpower. The keto diet, unlike other diets, reverses the body’s metabolic state.

The US entered into an era of low fat when 1970s nutritional data mentioned saturated fat causes a bad effect on the body. The consumption of fat (especially saturated fats) dropped drastically, but obesity in America kept soaring since most people continued to consume more carbohydrates, which are the source of glucose. People started following a low-fat, high-carb diet to reduce weight. Unfortunately, there was no significant change in the obesity level - people continued gaining weight. Something was not right!

Before implementing any new diet, be it keto or any other diet, it is essential to understand the diet. This will ensure you switch to the diet without causing any harm to your body. You must analyze your body’s capability and choose a way that can support your lifestyle. It is necessary to listen to your body and devise your keto meal plan accordingly.

In this audiobook, we will discuss the keto diet and its possible role in preventing or curing cancer. The chapters in this audiobook will help you understand more about the ketogenic diet, its history, the therapeutic benefits, and the ways to use keto diet to prevent or cure serious diseases. This audiobook also acts as a guide for those who want to start the ketogenic diet.

I hope this audiobook serves as an informative and interesting listen to you! Enjoy!

Short book w/ only about 1/2 the info about cancer

Look at the title. It's Keto Diet for Cancer, yet half this book is about all the other health issues that are positively effected by the keto diet. I didn't buy this book to find out what else keto can help. I bought it to get info on cancer. I found that very annoying. If I wanted a book that discusses all the benefits of Keto on all health issues, that's what I would have purchased. The last half of the book gets to the point, but it isn't really anything new. You can find this info from many articles on the internet for free or from watching utube video's on the subject. i didn't find this to be very helpful in my search in the least. I guess if you've been living under a tree and have no idea how we need to build our immune system back to pristine condition with food and nutrition in order to fight cancer, then this book will be helpful. Otherwise, only moderately helpful.

Travis Stone, Toma Radu strikes a good balance exp

Travis Stone, Toma Radu strikes a good balance explaining the complex science behind how diet can impact cancer’s progression and be used therapeutically without overwhelming biochemistry or over promising its potential. She outlines the basic diet protocol and easy ways to ramp up to a ketogenic diet, while still providing important details about using the diet with certain types of cancer or chemotherapy. You will learn how to work with your cancer team to create a personalized diet plan that fits into the overall treatment plan. There is misinformation about ketogenic plans on the internet now; why this author’s extensive clinical experience and skill is so valuable to the diet’s application with cancer. Her references to studies, articles and the resource list are also helpful for readers who want to explore further. Travis Stone, Toma Radu ’s website DietaryTherapies provides an introduction to the topic and her family’s story; it is a good preview to her writing and the information in the book. Keto for Cancer is the book I have wanted all these years, it is a must read for anyone in the cancer community.

Excellent

Fight Cancer with a Ketogenic Diet is a fascinating look at cancer as a metabolic disease and as an attempt to combat it with diet. Davis takes the position that a ketogenic diet can help fight cancer because it eliminates or drastically resists insulin-activating carbohydrates and sugars, allowing the cells to burn fats for energy rather than sugars. It ties in with other research I have done in the importance of eradicating sugar and slowing the metabolism. Unfortunately this won't work for me because of my gall bladder problems. However, for those without gall bladder problems, the ketogenic diet might be of great assistance in battling cancer. It is straightforward and helpful and includes recommended resources.

Best informative.

This book is interesting and full of helpful information, such as people following the keto diet my need more salt. The author weaves her own personal story through the book, which brought me to tears several times. She covers the science of fats and glucose metabolism, testing, some appetizing meal templates, and some good information on vitamins, minerals and other helpful supplements. Directions, warnings, and tips are included. It is clearly well researched, and will enable anyone to embark on the ketogenic diet with complete confidence.

Keto for cancer is a thoroughly researched, wholistic treatment for managing cancer. It includes both the science behind the diet, and the practical use of the diet in my wellness journey. Even my husband has joined me in following this protocol and is gaining great benefits from it. This book may make your head spin as you begin to realize the lies that have been fed to the public for decades regarding diet and health. Go with it! It’s a much needed paradigm shift.

Best informative.

This book has SO MUCH great information! I have read and listened to lots of keto stuff and I am starting to feel overwhelmed with which references I should recommend to interested patients. I think this would be a great starting point (even for those not fighting cancer) as it is thorough, accurate, easy to read, contains tear jerking personal stories, and lots of additional references...very, very good!

Fatty fish, like salmon and sardines

Fatty fish, like salmon and sardines, have protein, which gives you energy and makes you feel full longer. And they're full of healthy fats, especially omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3s help keep your heart healthy and hold inflammation at bay throughout your body. They also help give skin its glow.

good

All beans are high in fiber, which is your friend when you're trying to lose weight because it helps you feel fuller longer, thus controlling hunger. Eating beans and legumes has also been linked with various other health benefits, including lowering blood pressure, reducing LDL cholesterol and reducing risk of cardiovascular disease. Beans are fairly low in calories and deliver protein as well. Try them in homemade veggie burgers, soups and salads.

good

While no one food is a magic bullet for weight loss, there are certain foods that can help you achieve your weight-loss goals. Most of the foods included as part of a weight-loss diet have a few things in common: they're high in fiber (which helps keep you feeling fuller longer) and have a low energy density—meaning that you can eat a decent-sized portion without overdoing it on calories. Include the following weight-loss foods as part of a healthy overall diet, and you may find it's easier to achieve your weight-loss goals.
