I’ve been researching the keto lifestyle for a couple years and have occasionally tried it but couldn’t stick with the restrictions. The approach in this book offers so many options and is much more practical, the recipes are great and easy to make, and the ingredients are easy to find. This is the first time I’ve been able to stick with it for almost 3 weeks and am actually experiencing the benefits....loss of sugar cravings, more energy, less inflammation, and improving digestive issues. My husband is really liking it too. He was miserable the last time we tried it but was willing to give it another shot. I highly recommend this book whether you’re just starting out or have experience with this way of life. Other books I’ve tried to read required a masters in some area of science to understand it all. this book is an easy and interesting read, for the everyday person.

Excellent


This book is essential for starting a Ketogenic Diet. Leanne writes it so that is easy to navigate and helpful tips especially for women. Not a lot of books are geared toward a woman's approach at Keto. I have sent this to my Father and a good friend as gifts. So far I am feeling great and am already down 7lbs in two weeks. I would highly recommend The Keto Diet to anyone struggling with health related issues. I have suffered from yeast overgrowth, endometriosis, IBS (leaky gut) and had recently put on an additional 10 lbs after eating basically vegetarian for 4 years. I suffered from low energy, migraines, low iron levels and B12. I will be returning to my doctor in a few months to see how my levels are changing but I will say that I am finally getting more energy, have lost weight and my "time of the month" was not nearly as horrible. I am 32 years old and hoping to fix my hormone imbalance so that I can possibly have a child in the next couple of years. Fingers crossed. :) Keep Calm and Keto On!

Good book

For anybody interested in the Keto diet, this is the one and only book I'd recommend. It's beautiful, informative, sensical, well organized and provides a clear path to understanding your body and the miracle of ketosis. For me, it seems like it provided an escape to normality. I've been relieved of the stress of dieting. I no longer count calories, never feel deprived, never eat crappy food and am losing excess weight. I think I've actually discovered a more natural lifestyle that I can do for the rest of my life. The author emphasizes, learning to pay attention to what the body is saying, rather than follow some cookie cutter plan. I love that!

Lots of wonderful info to sort through. Working my way through it slowly. Looks very helpful so far. More info than another beginner's book I purchased. Recipes look so good, too! So many paths to help choose the right one for lifestyle and goals and sample meal and shopping plans...I also spot explanations on issues than can occur with keto, travelling and shopping guides as well. Looking forward to getting help from this book in making this huge lifestyle change!

EXCELLENT ONE

I'm relatively new to the Keto world and I LOVE this book. It gives a great intro to the pros and cons of the Ketogenic diet and helps to navigate why it may or may not be right for you. I love that everything is simplified, easy and thorough! The recipes are easy to follow and don't require anything you would have to acquire from a far off exotic store. There are different meals plans to suit whatever your need. If you've been thinking about switching to the ketogenic lifestyle, you have got to get this book. This is your basic understanding... your bible.

I thought the meal plans would truly be simple, they require more ingrediants than should be catagorized under the term simple. Single people, with full time jobs and long commutes to where affordable housing is don't have time to sit down and make involved meal plans. It's too complicated and you get that sense after looking over the meal plans. Shame, the book otherwise is informative and well thought out. If you can afford a personal chef you should have them do this for you.

Amanda totally changed my life!

Amanda Lee totally changed my life! Have been following her since last february and I love her keto approach which focus more on hormonal balance and self-loving side. All her recipes are delicious. If you're on keto diet and running out of ideas what to cook, this is definitely the book for you.

Lots of wonderful info to sort through

This book is phenomenal! I have made 15+ recipes and all of them have been amazing. There were so many of the recipes that I was genuinely skeptical about because of the combination of ingredients and my past experiences of cooking with them, but Amanda Lee has a great palate for cooking, especially for such a niche diet! I love that her recipes are completely dairy free, because as a keto-er you can get pretty inundated with cheese and cream, which is tough on my body (personally). And she also doesn't rely on eggs for everything, which is so nice as well! Though she doesn't completely omit them.
The sections explaining the actual diet are very clear and well organized.
I highly recommend this book if you are interested in the ketogenic diet!

Excellent

Mind blowing! I read about keto in other webs and books, but I always felt like they didn't cover all aspects or made it to difficult to follow.
Leanne's book is so easy to understand and follow, it's like a friend is explaining to you what and why to do each thing. And maybe the most important aspect of it, it's that she is always aiming you to do the best you can and to adapt it to your life and way of leaving, guilt free, none restriction feelings what so ever. A must read for anyone interested in this type of living.

The best thing about buying this book was finding out that Leanne existed (!), so that I could also hear/read her podcasts and other published content. I appreciate so much that she investigates and learns about what other people are recommending, considers it, and also comes up with her own ideas about what food her body needs, and tries them. Very inspiring. I've been on a high fat/low carb eating plan (more Atkins than Keto, becoming more Keto gradually...) for 8 weeks now and have lost 6 pounds, a third of the weight I want to lose to get to the weight that I feel most comfortable at. The prospect of committing to a Keto diet can feel complex and overwhelming, but Leanne's own success, chilled-out writing and speaking style, and encouragement to make modifications to "basic Keto" that will work for the individual, makes me feel confident that I'll eventually Get It and that it will work for me, for a lifetime. A lot of the negative reviews say that her advice is anti-Diary, and thus Bad, but I'm glad that she wrote about Dairy sensitivity and the symptoms of it, because it caused be to wonder about my own similar symptoms, which are getting better now that I'm cutting back on dairy products because of reading this book. Frankly, a spoonful of tahini butter is becoming a more attractive choice than cheese by the day.

Seriously amazing!

This book is incredibly detailed and very informative about ways to manage your own personal ketogenic diet. I had tried ketosis before and failed miserably but after finding Leanne's book (and her other guides) I finally had success and relief from my symptoms! This book answers all your questions before you can ask them and the Charts and recipes make the daily Praxis of keto easy to understand and follow! It truly inspires one to take responsibility for your own health! Plus Leanne's personality shows through her writing which makes it a fun and interesting read

Wow!


Wow! What a book! Leanne crammed every inch of this “manual” with information, tips and love. I can easily see why others looking for a quick a-z “how to” would find this tome overwhelming ... but I personally love that I will continue to find more and more new information for a long time to come within it’s beautiful cover. Leanne has genuinely poured her soul into this edition and it’s a LOT of information to absorb. But I feel that’s a good thing!

HELPFUL


Excellent book - has all the information for starting on Keto and continuing on a healthy path using what works for you. This book really has it all. There are basic instructions on how to do the very classic keto all the way through to her fat fueled plans. Each of the different plans comes with a month of menu planning, shopping lists and choices for each one. So easy to understand great diagrams, pictures and charts too. Tons of recipes that are listed wit pictures. Easy to look up recipes - well laid out.

BEST BOOK

I have read my share of health food books over the years. This is by far the BEST book on whole food wellness I have ever read. Lee literally answers every question you may have and does it in a way that is not over whelming and straight to the point.
