Talks down to "fitness gurus",too much negativity

I am not even halfway through the book but I am already sick of hearing the author talking down on "them", the fitness gurus and others. I get it, we have been taught plenty of false information for years but instead of making the ketogenic diet as the focus of the book, he chooses to state why others are wrong over and over again. I was hoping to find some science-based explanations to body building on keto, but for the sake of simplicity, he sounds more like a "gym bro" that he keeps criticizing. He contradicts himself in several chapters. This book might be good for people who have no idea about keto, but I have nothing to learn from it as a scientist who has been on the ketogenic diet for over a year.

Shredding, lol!!

No seriously though. This book was awesome!! I've hated cardio for years and have never been able to get my stomach to look like I want regardless of the time I spend in the gym. Adding Keto and switching up a few things you mentioned did it! BOOM

The worst book I’ve ever found on Audible

This book is absolutely terrible. The writer’s skill level is comparable to that of a failing 8th grader. He botches basic phrases and sayings all over the place and makes frequent grammatical errors. He uses terms incorrectly. It’s very amateurish. The narrator is also terrible. His words do not flow, and he often sounds disjointed and awkward, as if he is a nervous child reading the book in front of a large audience for the first time in his life.

The actual content is a mess. He gets some basic things right, such as the fact that fat doesn’t make you fat, but he contradicts himself frequently. It sounds as if this was thrown together haphazardly after a few google searches. He is obviously not a scientist of any kind and doesn’t know what he is talking about. Most of what he says is anecdotal.

The book starts with a laundry list of extravagant and unrealistic promises, such as you can gain 20 to 45 lbs of muscle in two months without steroids. He claims you can have the body of your dreams in TWO WEEKS! Seriously?! How can such nonsense even get published? He also stokes an “us versus them” narrative by trash talking the fitness industry, personal trainers, supplements, etc. Yet the only qualifications that he cites for himself are that he’s been working out for ten years. That’s like saying someone is an expert chef because they’ve been flipping burgers at a fast food restaurant for ten years. That and he claims to know Arnold.

In summary, this book is a total disaster. I can’t believe Audible even has it on their site. I want a refund!

Extremely confusing content

Sadly, I can not recommend this book. It is extremely confusing. It seems that the author started a regular bodybuilding book and somewhere in the process he discovered the keto dieting, so he decided to through it in the mix. However, he kept the original ideas about carbohydrates and thus created something that doesn't hold together.
I tried to overcome the initial hiccups where he talks about bad fats and then give you healthy sunflower oil, but it keeps going. He talks about how you must limit carb intake while going keto, how bread and pasta are actually sugars you should avoid and then few chapters later, he gives an example about how to save money by eating leftovers, how he freezes bread and eat leftover chicken with pasta. Also, he seems to ignore the role of protein overconsumption in keto dieting, because he talks about drinking 4 protein shakes in between meals.
I don't know what to think about this book, there are many relevant and important facts, but these are constantly attacked by contradictions. I asked Audible to allow me to return this book because I won't waste my time to finish it.
Maybe a new edition would help if the editor reads the book carefully and removes all the confusing parts.
In the current state, I suggest you steer away from it because even though the author heavily criticized the current state of fitness business which is full of contradictions and confusions, with this book, he only adds some more.
