A fast burn, mask play, chase me romance. This part of a series of novellas written based on locations I travel to for book signings and each audiobook can be listened to entirely as a stand alone in any order.

Masked, Messy, and Deliciously Dark

This novella wastes zero time getting down and very dirty. Queenie digging a grave in a ball gown and Cole showing up masked on his own land is the kind of unhinged meet-cute I did not know I needed. The chemistry is instant, dark, and unapologetic, leaning hard into kink, danger, and morally gray choices.

For such a short read, it packs a surprising punch. The pacing is fast, the spice is bold, and the tone fully commits to its twisted premise. If you want a quick, filthy, slightly unhinged novella with masked men and bad decisions, this delivers. As always, I enjoyed Katrina Medina's rendition for this audiobook.

Cole and Queenie

Katrina Medina does an amazing job singlely narrating this audiobook. She voices Cole and Queenie very well.

I really like this new series by H.N. Readers who like their book boyfriends to be dark and unhinged, will want to read this quickie book. This book is darker than the first book in this series. So, tuck yourself in and get comfy and read this book.

The way that Cole took Queenie when he first came upon her in the grave! Queenie has some sass to her. Which just added to the story. The contract that Cole makes Queenie sign, um I would sign too. Even if it is just for one night. Cole and Queenie share a few more steamy scenes.

Quick, Captivating Dark Romance

This was our second dark romance, and for those who are like us, new, this would be a great beginner book.

This was also our first masked MMC book, and again, this would be a good beginner book for that.

Please make sure to read the TW because the grave scene is right at the beginning of the story and comes up again towards the end.

We would say the first intimate scene seemed a bit dubious, but it’s also clear Queenie is into this. She is the FMC of the story and we learn she’s into CNC, which our masked MMC is also into.

They do CNC only after a contract has been signed and safe-words have been established.

Cole is the MMC and he’s very authoritative. He’s also part of the Off Grid Billionaire Club where contracts are written and maybe even help is given? Let’s ask Queenie.

The narrator, Katrina Medina, did an excellent job of playing both roles. She has a deeper voice that was Cole’s voice and it’s very different from Queenie voice.

Not once was I pulled out of the story because of narration or writing. This was a great listen experience

This is book two in the series and we chaos red this, so we are uncertain if it’s necessary to have read book one before this one.

We clearly understood the story and didn’t feel lost.
