Publisher's summary

Kelly pulled into the harbor parking lot next to the pier and noticed that Amber's car wasn't in its usual place, and there was no sign of her. She was usually standing at the door of Kelly's Koffee Shop, waiting for Kelly to open up. "Wonder what that's all about," she thought.

The local residents of Cedar Bay come to Kelly's Koffee Shop for breakfast, lunch, and lots of gossip. Kelly serves it all up as she works to solve the murder of the high school Homecoming Queen. The townspeople can't believe what has happened in their sleepy little Oregon seaside town. She identifies five prime suspects, but which one did it?

Follow Kelly; her boxer dog, Rebel; and her boyfriend, Mike, the county sheriff, as they try to determine who the killer is in a murder that's shocked the town. Kelly's Coffee Shop is a mouth-watering cozy mystery with recipes! Learn more about Dianne's other books at DianneHarman.com

Good cozy mystery.

I enjoyed the story and the performance. A story has to keep my attention so i will finish my work out and this story succeeded.
I wish it had been a little longer. The next book is on my wish list so I can keep up with Kelly & Rebel.

Icky

As a Black woman in the twenty-first century, reading the privileged life of a secluded community was not what I had in mind when I listened to this book. Clearly, the plot was not crafted by a writer who lived in modern-day society, otherwise, she would have included Black and other people of color as well as members from the LGBTQ community. I wish I could return this book for a full refund. A horrible choice for Audible to produce.

So many suspects!!

If you could sum up Kelly's Koffee Shop in three words, what would they be?

down home mystery

What did you like best about this story?

The logical process of elimination with a twist.

Have you listened to any of Erin deWard’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Good again. Love her low voice and mesmerizing cadence.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Cried when the Sheriff Mike proposed. Kelly deserves a good man!

Excellent as Always

I have read several other books in this series and loved each and every one of them. This book did not fail to impress me, I enjoyed it very much. The writing was excellent as allways and I am definitely a fan of the narration..."“I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

Spoiler Alert

I don't usually reveal spoiler info but here goes. This story has an interesting plot and characters. But the main character is just annoying. She makes promises to her boyfriend and others and then holds her hand behind her and crosses her fingers to make it alright to make it OK that she is lying and will not honor her promise. This was done over and over again and again. Way overboard. She owns a business and is not a teenager or a little kid and that trait is way to childish for a business woman. Also she is outright stupid to confront the suspects all alone (with her faithful dog of course). She seems so nice but has no problem taking credit away from her 'boyfriend policeman' for solving the crime and making him look like a fool. She also threw in a brand new character at the very end who was the murderer. The narrator did a very good job.

Cozy Mystery

Any additional comments?

Quick, fun and light- hearted mystery.
Good, clean, entertaining story

Kelly just can’t keep from getting involved with a police murder investigation.
While this is entertaining, I did not like this one as much as the others I have listened to.

Erin deWard did a pretty good job with the narration. Pleasant voice. This is not her best narrated story. The narration for this story did not flow as smoothly as her other narrations in this series.

An entertaining cozy mystery

Kelly’s Koffee Shop is an entertaining cozy mystery with a tragic premise: the murder of a young woman. The story is full of interesting characters and likely suspects. Kelly has an incredible dog! The recipes at the end of the book sound delicious- Perhaps I’ll try them sometime.

Mild spoiler alert: I was dismayed that Kelly’s police officer boyfriend didn’t take the child pornography and previously dismissed charges against one character more seriously. Someone like that should not be allowed in a job around kids no matter how good he is with them.

The narrator of the audiobook does a good job bringing the story and characters to life.

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook. This is my honest and voluntary review.
