Publisher's summary

Karma Yoga (the yoga of action) is a book of lectures by Swami Vivekananda, as transcribed by Joseph Josiah Goodwin. It was published in February 1896 in New York City. Swami Vivekananda delivered a number of lectures in his rented rooms at 228 W 39th Street in New York City from December 1895 to January 1896. In 1895, friends and supporters of Swami Vivekananda hired Goodwin, a professional stenographer, who transcribed some of the lectures which were later published as this book. Goodwin later became a follower of Vivekananda.

Profound

Touched every cell within. Life changer. Soars to the heights of the gigantic persona of The Great Monk himself, Swami Vivekananda.

A necessary reading for all who can read, I feel

Text was perfect. Felt great inspiration going through it. Had to stop at several places just to absorb the said words. I felt like this by itself is sufficient for a person, if fully absorbed.

Delivery was uneven, felt rushed at times with unpronounced words at several places when changing sentences or paragraphs. Speakers should make the effort to learn correct pronunciation of Sanskrit words.

Audible folks, please have it re-recorded.

For those considering buying, go ahead. it's better to have heard it than not. The original book is available for free online (and the text is also available at www.ramakrishnavivekanada.info)

The wisest short book I have listed to!

It’s incredible how much wisdom this short book has. There is no BS, things are said straight up as they should. Wake up call and everyone should listen to it.

Felt like I was being talked at

At some point I'd like to read this book. However, the narration is too unemotional and fast to feel anything but anxiety. It sounds like a stern hurried lecture.

Horrible Narration

The narrator talks way too quickly and without emotion literally as if he's trying to produce as many words as possible per second so he can finish this book (which he apparently seems not to like otherwise he would read it better) and get paid sooner. Like literally he takes microbreaths after each sentence just so he doesn't have to wait to plow through the next sentence.
I only read like 20 minutes of this and then stopped so I can't really comment on the quality of the text, which is why I gave it 3 stars; average.
