Good Stories With Great Narrator!

I have decided to start my review with D.C. Cole because in my opinion he was the best thing about this collection. He makes the male voices sound strong and sexy, and also does a good job with the female voices, making everyone sound different enough that you can always tell who is speaking. I could listen to him narrate anything at anytime! The stories themselves were all interesting. Her Ruthless Russian, Vlad and Madison’s story, was my favorite. I really liked both characters and the storyline kept me interested throughout. In Her Rogue Russian, I just couldn’t connect with Savannah. I didn’t really like her at all. I did like Maxim however but thought he deserved a better partner. Their story was still interesting it was just spoiled a bit because Savannah was so unlikable. Her Relentless Russian finally gave us the identity of the father’s killer. Dimitri and Harper worked together to solve the mystery and got their HEA. Harper took awhile to grow on me but Dimitri was a sweetheart and I just couldn’t help but like him. All in all each story was enjoyable and D.C. Cole certainly brought the stories to life expertly. This book was given to me for free and I provided this unbiased review.

Especially loved Vlad.

And the gentleman reading had a great voice. I'll actually look for others he has done.

Not bad

Well these books weren't bad, but they could have been better. Each book should have been longer and more in-depth.

fun, sexy suspense

I enjoyed listening to the series in one go. Each story had a couple that despite being different and coming from different worlds, thrown together by circumstance, they meshed really well, sparks flying. The stories are short, but fun, suspense with a dash of romance and a few steamy scenes make for an entertaining listen. In the last one the truth behind their father's murder is revealed, what a twist. Each couple's story ends in HFN (Happy For Now) and would have been nice to get a glimpse into the future and see where they are.

My first listen from Mr. Cole and I really enjoyed the array of voices and accents, the passion for his craft really shows. I am looking forward to discover more of his work. My fave voice was the one he gave Vlad *sigh*

OK stories with great narration..

HER RUTHLESS RUSSIAN

This was really just an ok story. I liked Vlad and Madison but between the talk and thoughts and actions when it came to sex it took away from the story. Vlad started off investigating the murder of his father and thought Madison and her father had something to do with it. Even after he started sleeping with her he still thought she was involved. It ended 5 months later, with Madison 5 months pregnant, when they were moving into their little 2 bedroom house, and I couldn’t believe that for a minute. When his father died that left Vlad to take over so I couldn’t believe a Russian Mobster NOT living in some pretty good size house with high security and tons of security surrounding him.

Also, the word BRAIZER was used to describe Madison’s BRA, when it really means “a simple cooking device consisting of a container of live coals covered by a grill or thin metal top upon which the food, usually meat, is placed.” A BRASSIERE is “a woman's undergarment for supporting the breasts.” I can always look past bad grammar and such but that just about smacked me in the face.

There was more than one scene of explicit sex and throughout the 3 novellas the F-bomb was used 27 times.

HER ROGUE RUSSIAN

So, Maxim and Savannah are at a Russian nightclub, they have sex in the women’s bathroom then he leaves her at the club and answers a text he got to come to an address, and she follows in a taxi. Maxim enters the apartment he was led to and there’s blood everywhere. Savannah walks in and asks him if he did this? Really? Blood everywhere, except on Maxim, and she’s asking him that? Totally stupid! The author needs to THINK about her scenarios before she writes them. Savannah kept going back and forth about Maxim’s innocence. I didn’t like this story at all. I did like Maxim, however.

Only the one explicit sex scene in the ladies room.

HER RELENTLESS RUSSIAN

The killer of the Karev brothers was finally revealed, which I knew in book 1, but I wanted to make sure I was right. I did like Dmitry and Harper but overall the entire series was mediocre at best. I didn’t like each and every chapter being named after the male and female MC’s: One chapter was called Dmitry then the next was Harper, and the same went with the first two books with every single chapter. It’s just nonsense.

There were a couple of explicit sex scenes in this one and both were up against a wall. I don’t think Dmitry liked anything but walls. LOL

As to the narration: If I had just been reading these stories I doubt I would have finished them BUT D.C. Cole kept me listening. He did great men’s and women’s voices and read with great emotions. I would definitely want to listen to him again.

Great Series!

In this Mafia Series we follow three brothers, Vlade, Maxim and Dmitry in their quest to find their father's murderer. This Series is well written, suspenseful, fast-paced, sexy/steamy and filled with twists and turns. The main characters in each story (Vlad/Madison, Maxim/Savannah and Dmitry/Harper) share a strong chemistry. I loved their HEA and liked the ending of this Series. I like that the women in Leslie North's books are mostly strong and sometimes sassy and the men are always alpha and protective.The narration was really great, as always with DC Cole. He has done a great job with all characters. He's one of my favorite narrators. He has the perfect sexy voice for this mafia Series. I enjoyed my listening. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

well i am struggeling to decide whether i like the book or not. i am missing somethin but have a really hard time pin point what it is that i am missing. yes there is romance and love afair all three brothers have and is straight to the point no cliff hangers which i like but there is a story about the murder of their father for which even though the whole story is around this it is missing something more thrill more intrigue. overall yes i did hear all three books and are nit bad but i am missing something that would give wow effect. if reading this book i would probably stop after first but with D.C. Cool and his very strong performance and narration it keept me going. so overall a ok book to listen you will not be sorry but probably you will miss that wow at the end.

Great series!

This box set follow the three Karev brothers in their quest to find their father's murderer. The brothers also find love. Each brother had a different dynamic with their love interests but they were all interesting and fun. D.C. Cole did an excellent job narrating all the characters.

I was very lucky to have been given a free copy of this series so here's my review.
This was a great series! I love the fact that I was able to listen to the books one after another with no waiting and have to say that all 3 books were very entertaining. What to say.... these books were HOT! Lots of steamy scenes that went well with what was going on. I love that all three women were strong on their own but when put together with these men they were even stronger. I kind of figured out who he killer was before getting to the end of the book, but the workups to get there were great and how it was revealed was don't just perfectly. I am definitely going to be recommending this series to a few friends.
