Acerca de esta escucha

Bold, insightful, and deeply intimate, Karen Carpenter: A Voice That Still Echoes unveils the complex life of one of music’s most beloved and enigmatic figures. This new biography offers a rare and candid glimpse into Karen’s triumphs and struggles, from her meteoric rise with The Carpenters to the quiet battles she faced behind closed doors. With exclusive insights into the creation of her timeless songs and revealing accounts from those closest to her, this audiobook captures the full scope of Karen’s artistry, her inner conflicts, and the lasting impact she left on the world.

Why this biography? Because Karen’s story has never been told like this.

Unlike any biography before it, A Voice That Still Echoes dives deeply into Karen’s personal world, exploring every facet of her life with a warmth and honesty that will move listeners. Written from a perspective that seeks to understand Karen as both an artist and a person, this biography captures her humanity—the dreams, hopes, insecurities, and battles that shaped her music and legacy. This audiobook is not just a recounting of facts or a timeline of hits; it is an intimate tribute to Karen Carpenter, the woman behind the voice. Listeners will discover the depth of her artistry, her private fears, and the resilience that kept her going even when she was at her lowest.

An inside look at the creation of music that defined an era!

"Karen Carpenter’s voice was a balm to the soul—her life, a story both haunting and heartbreakingly real." Rolling Stone

Extremely repetitive. Every chapter seemed like a repeat of the previous one with just a few new things thrown in.
I made it through about 2/3 of the book without learning anything new. There are almost no direct quotes from anyone. Normally if anyone is quoted it would be "A friend said this" or"A friend said that", without naming an actual person or providing any context.
Don't waste your time on this one.

Very superficial review of Karen Carpenter's life

Had to stop. Everything repeated over and over until I wanted to scream!! Couldn’t finish!

Repetition throughout the book.
