Publisher's Summary

"Kanban" is a Japanese term that can mean visual board. When applied in the context of Lean practices, Kanban is a visual tool for managing the flow of information or work items. It is flexible enough to be introduced to an existing process, whatever that process may be, and without having the need to replace the process, but it is very compatible with Agile methods.

In fact, it is being used in many industries such as manufacturing, R&D, supply chain, logistics management, and healthcare, to name a few. Kanban, however, help in the management of projects by visualizing workflow, limiting work in process, creating and improving the flow.

This audiobook introduces principles that have already revolutionized the manufacturing industry. By adopting seven Lean principles, people developing software learned how to create a more efficient process optimized for their work environment.

These principles help people to eliminate waste, amplify learning, and deliver as fast as possible, among others. Lean practices promote a variety of tools, and one popular tool is Kanban.

The book discusses:

  • What Kanban is
  • How it can help
  • Its benefits and how it should be implemented
  • How to improve the workspace workflow
  • What to do with the improvements gained

Step-by-Step Agile Guide

This is a new concept to me and I can't wait to use the principles set fourth in this book. My biggest take away was the board that is used to systemize the To Do's and to get things done quickly and efficiently. I will be looking into a digital board which the book talked about as well for it would be great for my field. Just as anything in life kanban is always in constant refinement

Very good introduction to Kanban

The book covers the basics and attempts to provide guidance for the move the the new methodology. It is easy to read, the writing enthusiastic and interesting examples are littered throughout the book. It doesn't try to be the single source of all knowledge for Kanban, but offers up recommendations if more detailes are needed, which I personally find refreshing.

If you are looking for a good introduction to the Kanban method, you have found the right book!

Great and awesome book..!!

I really liked this book. It is short, sweet, and to the point. It tells you all you need to know about Kanban. I also liked that the author included information on using with Kanban. This was the first I heard of that. Superficial, both at the Kanban modules.

Great, short and to the point. I rarely give five stars, but it’s the best book, you'll spend on a audio (I did Audible, but I’ll also buy the book to get the references easily ).
