Publisher's Summary

Nicholas Parsons presents four more specially-selected archival episodes of the ever-popular comedy panel game from its early days. Just as uproariously funny and terrifically popular today as when it first began on BBC Radio 4 in 1968, Just a Minute challenges contestants to speak for one minute on a given subject without repetition, hesitation, or deviation. Its mix of irreverent fun and ferocious competition has always attracted stellar names from the world of comedy and theatre.

In this collection, Sheila Hancock, Lance Percival, Wendy Richard, Tommy Trinder, Stephen Fry, and Jan Ravens pit their wits and their wit against regular players Kenneth Williams, Derek Nimmo, Clement Freud, Peter Jones, and Paul Merton. Nicholas Parsons, who has been at the helm of the series since it began as chairman and occasionally as player, introduces this sparkling quartet of editions and provides fascinating background information on the game.

Another Goody

I've bought a few of these. you get 4 episodes one from 1960 through each decade to 1990. By then its Paul Merton and the longtime favourites of Kenneth Williams and Peter Jones and even Derek Nimmo have gone forever. However this still leaves Clemment Freud with people like Stephen Fry and said Paul along with other guests such as Wendy Richards and Sheila Hancock to represent and battle on behalf of the women. The shows on the whole are hilarious. Kenneth Williams will always be my favourite anyway but he excels with his repertoire, wit, immense talent and sheer lunacy at times. There will never be 2 of him. I really like these shows and for gentle humour, wit and amusement you cant go wrong. Ideal lazy listening.
