Publisher's summary

He's a better-than-a-Boy-Scout, trauma surgeon extraordinaire. Who just punched a patient in the nose.

She's the director of the ER. And is now in charge of keeping her star surgeon in line until his suspension is over.

First order of business is prying his perfect ass off the bar stool...and keeping her huge crush on him under control. Except he refuses to move until she agrees to - and then loses - a bet for 48 hours of her undivided attention.

Okay, she can handle this. How much trouble could they possibly get into in two days? And how much could she possibly enjoy that trouble? And if he simply can't be her Knight-in-Shining-Scrubs anymore, well, then she can finally move on. Because she's not into bad boys. Anymore. Supposedly.

Contains mature themes.

Good story but….

I was really looking forward to listening to this series from this author. I am struggling to get through the first book because of the narration. It IS a cute story that I would do better to read, rather than listen. This narrator sounds like she is reading only and putting inflection on words that change the tone of the sentence. I’m not sure I’ll listen to the other books in the series. For some reason, I can’t get past it.

Finding a balance in life

Jessica is a head ER nurse who likes things orderly and she takes things very seriously. Ben is the best trauma surgeon in the state. One night he has his fill of things and gets suspended. Jessica's brother talks her into "babysitting" Ben so he doesn't get in more trouble after drowning his woes. They both have had their eyes on each other but didn't act on it because of working together. Jessica has a lot of responsibilities and not just at work. Ben decides to help her rediscover her fun side. I loved the banter between Jessica and Ben and all the other people in the story. Erin Nicholas really has a way with a phrase! I liked Karen White's narration, too. I can't wait to listen to the next book in the series.

Work Service Sacrifice

Found a new author from the members only sale while looking at one of my top fave narrators, Ms Karen White.
As always she make our heroes yummy, and our heroine as strong as can be.
She ownes author, Jill Shalvis, and Julie James. These series are not to be missed. Top drawer core romance writing.
If you are a fan of this author, see Rachel Gibson narrations by Ms Kathleen Early. You will laugh your head off.
This first book, sets up the characters for this series with howeling laughter in the truck scene with EMT guys eg Sam, Mac Books 2 and 3.
If you like pop tarts then this book is for you a with a clever plot and refreshing dialogue not of the FSOG type.
See authors Audible bio for her writing style, spot on in this book, and so is the publishers summery.
Note I do use 1.25x speed to match the adventure.

The reader is at times over dramatic

By reviews accounts, many like the reader and search for her. I just was not a fan of the over dramatization, crescendo in voice. The story was okay, a little slow.
