sweet story

love the storyline as well as the narrator. good mix of funny and heart-tuggy bits

Just Ok

The story was good, but the MC was oscillated between being hilarious and whiny. 🙄 I really wanted to like her more, but the author made her a little too starry-eyed and perfection obsessed and it ruined the story for me. I understand WHY she was written that way, but it was cringeworthy and kept me from really enjoying the book completely. I REALLY wanted to like her too- outside of her obsession with the “perfect man” she was delightful. Sad the author chose to do that.

The narrator was great, the rest of the characters were great.

Kept me smiling sweet story

This was a good one. This needs to be a Netflix movie. I loved the story. I would watch it. I so like can I be in this book . I listen to audio on my long 5 hour drives to see my grandson. So can you imagine the long smiles all the way in my drive. I will definitely check out Sophie’s other books. This was my first one

This was JUST the Book I Was Looking For!!

“Just Haven’t Met You Yet” has come into my life right as I needed it. Overall, i thought the book was excellent and highly recommend the audiobook in particular! But for anyone wanting more info, here is a brain dump of thoughts:


I have not read romance books in a long time, so this was a nice re-introduction to the genre. I found the main character very relatable as a soon to be 30yr old who is trying to figure out life while working at a job that is overly demanding and seeing her friends move forward along that railroad track of adulthood.

The book was the perfect level of detail for me to feel wrapped up in the storyline without feel too weighed down by details. The romantic tension between the main characters was so genuine, sweet, and steamy. And i LOVED the narrator!! Her voice was so wonderful to listen to; she brought the story to life with her lyrical read of the dialogue and variation in character voices.

I appreciate the layering of themes in the book that the main characters are working through. The imagery of Jersey was refreshing. The small town “break from the big city” tone at times felt like a Hallmark movie, but the cheese level wasn’t overdone. Overall, the book was a breath of fresh air!

There were reviews about the second half of the book being flat, but I did not experience that at all. I thought the storyline was enticing throughout the entire book. If anything, I want more! I would love to hear more from the main character, Laura, and i’d love to see how the relationship grows as well as how she grows individually as they get further into their relationship. Also selfishly, i want more of that steamy romance lol

All in all, it was a light read with some interesting lessons baked within. I found it really hard to stop listening, and would recommend this to anyone looking for a fun, but rooted escape from reality.

This was such a great story! Unexpectedly funny, clever, and charming from start to finish. I like when books have me laughing out loud when I am not anticipating it.

A Must Listen!

A delightful romantic comedy with a wonderful narrator. Though you know how things will play out, it’s fun seeing how the story resolves and getting to know the quaint island of Jersey.
