Publisher's summary

For Sean Wright, driving a cab in the tiny Navy town of Anchor Point isn't an exciting job...until he picks up just-dumped Paul Richards. A drive turns into a walk on the pier, which turns into the hottest hookup Sean's had in ages.

After a long overdue breakup, Paul can't believe his luck. Of all the drivers, he's picked up by the gorgeous, gay, and very willing Sean. Younger guys aren't usually his thing, but Paul can't resist.

One taste and neither man can get enough...right up until they realize that Paul is Sean's father's commanding officer and the last man Sean should be involved with.

With two careers on the line, their only option is to back off. It's not easy, though; the sex and the emotional connection are exactly what both men have been craving for a long time. But Paul has devoted 24 years to his career and his dream of making admiral. If he's caught with Sean, that's all over. He has to choose - stay the course, or trade it all for the man who drove off with his heart.

Enjoyable!

This is an enjoyable read. A sweet story from a different point of view. Not deep, but interesting nonetheless:)

Just Drive

Overall, I felt the story dragged a little bit but I enjoyed it and Nick Russo did a great job as always.

loved every minute of it!!!

Any additional comments?

There is no manufactured drama, no fake angst. The men are amazing together, yet the relationship seems doomed from the start because it breaks all the rules. Maybe some rules are meant to be broken. ...
The story is pretty steamy and definitely not slow burn but the pace of the story is a bit on the slow side.

Loved It

This was a great story! I love the slow burn of the development of the relationship. I even like better the epilogue that helps to round out the ending instead of just ending the story. Definitely a MUST listen.

Great book

I loved both characters but I'm a sucker for gay military romances anyway. Strong masculine gay men are my weakness.

The narration bumped this to a solid 5 star listen

Ever since its release, I’ve seen a lot of positive reviews about the Anchor Point series. However, as a military spouse, I tend to be hypercritical of books that feature characters in the military and I put off trying the series. After listening to the Just Drive audiobook, I have to admit I shouldn’t have waited...although I am pretty happy my wait meant I got the opportunity to listen to Mr. Russo’s narration of this May-December romance.

Although books featuring an age gap aren’t anything new to me, I appreciated that Just Drive included a different approach and dynamic than many of those I’ve previously read. The characters initial meeting was different as well and I thought it made for an interesting conflict as and Sean and Paul moved from quick hook-ups to a relationship. I found both characters very likable and enjoyed seeing each of them develop individually over the course of the book. Then there was the bright, fast-paced dialogue. I absolutely loved the banter, including the way the age difference came up in random moments while also reinforcing Sean and Paul’s genuine, palpable chemistry. All these elements combined to make for a really fun book with great pacing. The narration by Mr. Russo was especially wonderful, further enhancing my enjoyment. Over the course of the book Miss Witt also introduced some interesting secondary characters, one of which I know is featured in the next book of the series. I can say without any doubt that I’ll continue this series, and if the narrator stays the same, I’ll likely opt to stick to the audiobook versions because this one was done really well and is a performance I’ll listen to again and again.

Made my heart flutter

I liked where Sean and Paul took things, made my heart warm up. I did dislike the fact that they only met up at motels (not that they had a choice) not really complaining but It would of been nice to hear that they went to Paul’s house. I recommend this book to ANYONE who loves a good ole love story. I chose this rating because this book is one of a kind story. Personally Sean and Paul are obviously fictional but they found a spot in my heart. That’s how much I loved this book.

SWEET STORY OF LOVE CONQUERS ALL

Despite an age difference between the two main characters, Paul and Sean, casual encounters develop into so much more despite a variety of obstacles. Sacrifices are made for a surprise happy ending I did not see coming. Well written with great character development that engages the listener. The story has just enough angst, and in the end love conquers all. Narrator Nick Russo does a great job differentiating the characters... I was never confused which character was talking (something that can easily happen when there is only one narrator).

I look forward to reading the other books in this "Anchor Point" series... hopefully they will be just as enjoyable.
