Publisher's Summary

David was raised in an isolated mountain cabin by a devoted father who taught David to love beauty, nature, and music. When David's father becomes seriously ill, he decides to take David to relatives that the boy has never met. But partway into the journey, his father dies. David does not know the names of his relatives or even the name of his father, which his father had a reason for not telling him. This story is not just about what happens to David, but also what happens to all those who enter his life after this tragic event.

A gem among books for youth

“Just David” is just the type of books I want my children to hear. This book was absolutely beautiful. My 16,14,12, and 10 year old loved it. It is somewhat similar to Pollyanna, but I have to say I like it even more. David represented all things good, beautiful and pure. The people he encounters don’t completely understand him but in time they are completely changed by his goodness. This story teaches of love and forgiveness which we just can’t find in most books for youth today. I highly recommend this book.

In Love With David

We listened to the story in our vehicle everytime we run errands or grocery shop and found ourselves looking forward to leaving the house to keep up with David's adventures. David is a young man of quality character whom I would be pleased for my children to emulate.

Beautiful story poor storyteller

The story deserves a better storyteller. This is a must-add story to add to your collection, but its better off in your print library until someone else with better storytelling, character differentiating ability records this story.

A must read classic!! Inspiring!

This book stirs thoughtful introspection. A story of love, loss, creation, friendship, and purpose. My teenage son recommended this book to me. I want my other children to hear this. I anticipate wonderful conversations about it and life.
