Publisher's Summary

When aliens threaten his country, one grumpy old vet will take the fight to the stars.

Albert Jenkins would like nothing more than to putter around his junkyard, selling parts and working on old cars. When an alien spacecraft is shot down by US Air Defense and crash-lands on his newly rebuilt home, he’s dragged back into the fight of his life.

Light years away, a war for the control of Earth looms, and humanity’s freedom hangs in the balance. Previously kicked off Earth, the Korgul are back, and they are willing to destroy any who stand in their way.

To join the action, AJ lacks just one thing: a spaceship. With only a junkyard full of old parts, he’ll need help to get his plan off the ground. Fortunately, he’s got a plucky, pop culture-loving, nano-sized symbiote who’s managed to roll back the damages of 80 years of hard living. With dogged determination, he’ll repurpose an old, reclaimed shuttle and build a spaceship so he can join the fight one more time.

Great conclusion to the series

Wrapped up the trilogy nicely while leaving potential for future story arcs. Fun story with a great narrator!

Excellent Continuation of the Saga

The second installment of the series was a little different, but by necessity it had to be if it was to remain interesting. the reading and performance in presenting this novel was excellent as usual. the story sees AJ and company leaving the bounds of Earth and bringing some new characters into the series. definitely worth getting and definitely worth the time you will invest in listening to it!

Fun but confusing?

So the book was good but some plot points made no sense, without too spoilers. At one point one of the Beltagurse kills another yet no one treats this like murder or a crime. They flip when another species gets killed but no reaction or punishment for their own. Next they use the Vacine on some who in the last book took the antidote and had been exposed to bug juice. The vacine shouldnt have worked on him, he was immune to it. so ya those made no sense.

great fun

If you're new to the junkyard spaceship series, go back and start at the beginning! You will thank me later for this.
This book is a wonderful continuation of what has been a fun series. It completes a saga, but leaves plenty of room for continuing. I'm looking forward to see what Albert Jenkins and crew do in the next novel. If you've enjoyed the first books in this series you will absolutely love this one as well.
Enjoy.

Still entertaining, but kind of petering out

I like my base complaint as I don't feel like the characters are developing and just making the same decisions over and over again

disappointing and to a great start

this trilogy started out excellent but fizzled out early and the ending felt like an excuse you just be done.

A really fun story.

The story started out fast and didn't slow down. From start to finish there were interesting characters, plot twists, plenty of action and more than a little humor to keep me interested.
