Publisher's summary

Trapped in rural Steeple Bumpleigh, a man less stalwart than Bertie Wooster would probably give way at the knees, for among those present are Florence Craye, to whom Bertie had once been engaged; her new fiancé, "Stilton" Cheesewright, who sees Bertie as a snake in the grass; and that biggest blot on the landscape, Edwin the Boy Scout, who is busy doing acts of kindness out of sheer malevolence. All of Bertie's forebodings are fully justified, for in his efforts to oil the wheels of commerce, promote the course of true love, and avoid the consequences of a vendetta, he becomes the prey of all and sundry. In fact only Jeeves can save him.

Another great Wodehouse.

Another enjoyable farce read by the always sparkling Mr. Cecil. Great addition to the series.

One of Wodehouse’s Finest

I was delighted to discover another Bertie and Jeeves story I had not read, and what made me more delighted was how hilarious this particular one is. The writing is some of Wodehouse’s best, and the plot is perfect. If there were more stars available, I would give them.

Hilarious!

I love the Wooster & Jeeves stories - very funny. And Jonathan Cecil did an excellent job in reading. Had me laughing & slapping the steering wheel. I’m sure the driver in front of me thought I was crazy, but who cares? Great story, superb narration. Highly recommended.

Jeeves pulls through

Joy in the Morning is one of P. G. Wodehouse’s masterpieces. Jeeves outdoes himself and rescues Bertie from … the Steeple Bumpleigh Horror. How delightful. This tale will cure what ails you. Masterfully read aloud by Mr. Cecil, who ably voices each character, adding to the fun.

Narrator brought the characters and story to life!

Wodehouse is so lively; I always worry the narrator won't do it justice, but Jonathan Cecil did an excellent job! He really brought the characters and story to life. I normally enjoy reading Wodehouse stories, but I didn't feel as if I missed anything for hearing it this time.

Always makes me laugh

Some of these books have racial slurs, which make me wince. This one didn’t. I’m glad. They’re not enough to stop me from listening to them yet. I expect them being that they were written forever ago. Otherwise, they’re a good, lighthearted listen.

Jonathan Cecil is the best

This is one of our absolute favorites💗
We love anything read by Jonathan Cecil, but the Bertie and Jeeves ones are the best. Highly recommended.

Excellent Performance

Fun performance. Narrator used different intonations for different characters. Did a marvelous job. Only weakness is that a few of the women's voices sounded too similar.
