Between 1953 and 1958, Journey into Space attracted millions of listeners, gripped by the mystery and promise of space exploration in weekly cliffhanging instalments.
In this thrilling new episode, the spaceship Ares has been heading back to Earth for 30 years, with the crew in suspended animation - except Captain Jet Morgan, whose sleeper pod failed. With the ship six months from home, Jet picks up an SOS from Mars and wakes the others to go on a rescue mission. But when our heroes meet up with the stranded crew it becomes apparent that all is not what it first appeared. Unwittingly caught up in seismic deception, it is not only the lives of the Ares crew which are at stake - the entire future of planet Earth could be in peril....
David Jacobs - from the original radio series - stars as Jet Morgan, with Michael Beckley as Mitch, Alan Marriott as Doc and Chris Moran as Lemmy.

Excellent Reprisal of a Lost Art
Any additional comments?
This is an hour-long radio play based on the 1950's BBC radio program "Journey Into Space". It is amazing to hear how modern writers tackle the same characters used for such a long time over 70 years ago.
They did a tot-notch job of both staying true to the original feel and sound of "Journey Into Space" as well as keeping that same sense of wonder that was so prevalent in those old radio shows.
This is definitely worth the price.

A touch of nostalgia
I grew up in the UK where Journey into Space was a radio series, lasting a quarter of an hour every evening. From it came three books by Charles Chilton and this little book is something of a masterpiece, capturing the sometime crew of the spaceship Discovery out of time and out of place. Not for everyone but most enjoyable.
Frozen in Time
Frozen in time was well written, which can be expected of Mr Chilton. It was allso well acted. For any body who has listened to the origional series on the radio and /or has purchased the downloads from audible such as I have will enjoy Frozen in Time. My only dissapointment was the use of the mid-atlantic accents, that may not bother other people so please go ahead and purchase this download and enjoy yourself.

Another episode in the adventure
The voices on the radio are distorted too much in an effort to give a touch of authentisity and it spoils what would have been an exalent play.
A very simple story, involving corporate greed and ecological themes An "entry level" villain for the "trainee hero" might be the best way to describe the level of threat in this adventure . Very well produced and performed however with first class music and effects. Rather short compared to many of the available titles here at audible that provide great value for money. Whole series etc So not great value but a title that you could listen to several times easily enough and of high quality.
